Watch Chris Brown’s Slick Shammgod Crossover

Chris Brown

It’s been awhile since we profiled the hooping exploits of R&B star Chris Brown. After showing out at Summer League in 2012, Breezy has mostly stayed away from the public game –  getting absolutely yammed on by Andre Drummond last summer probably had something do to with it. But Brown took to the court again recently, exhibiting handle and passing knack normally reserved for only the best ballers. Read More »

Video: Charles Barkley’s “Turrible” One-Bounce First Pitch At Cubs Game

Charles Barkley

Yesterday, the Round Mound of Rebound Charles Barkley threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Wrigley Field before a Cubs-Reds game. He decided to throw from the top of the pitcher’s mound (usually athletes and celebs stand in front), and paid for it by bouncing it way right. “Well, that was my ego,” Chuck said about standing on top of the pitcher’s mound. “I was living in the past.” Read More »

Among the things we loved most about the World Cup were the unique replays and camera angles offered by the FIBA broadcast team. We were privy to awesome views of the games in Spain to which we simply aren’t accustomed from NBA action, and it made the rare August-September basketball even better than we were anticipating. Though Team USA took down upstart Serbia in the gold medal game yesterday and officially ended the tournament in the process, the FIBA experience was far from over for fans. Read More »

Tempers Briefly Flare Before USA Routs Serbia For The Gold Medal

DeMarcus Cousins

While he didn’t make a move like he was about to pummel him, DeMarcus Cousins mistakenly instigated a brief kerfuffle in the third quarter in the gold medal game today. It quickly dissipated as everyone just cooled out before USA Basketball concluded their unimpeded stampede towards gold. Read More »

Video: Kyrie Irving’s First Quarter Scoring Bonanza & Pretty Euro-Step

Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving started off today’s gold medal game by missing a layup, but he hasn’t miss much since on his way to 15 first-quarter points and a 35-21 US lead that put them in the driver’s seat to capture their second consecutive world championship and extend their 62-game and counting (44 international and 18 exhibition) winning streak. Video: #TBT High School Nick Young Dunks From FT Line

Nick Young

There are a lot things you can say about Lakers gunner Nick Young. He’s equal parts the pied piper of the NBA and the lovable goof with a gorgeous girlfriend and a lack of embarrassment that’s refreshing in this day and age. One thing you can’t say about him, though, is that he can’t sky. As a recent Instagram upload shows, it’s been that way since he was a teenager. Read More »

Watch DeMarcus Cousins Scare Jonas Valanciunas

Jonas Valanciunas, DeMarcus Cousins

The USA cruised past Lithuania in the FIBA World Cup semifinals yesterday, 96-68, and it got a little feisty after the game concluded. Before Coach K did his Van Gundy impression, though, DeMarcus Cousins came very close to slugging Lithuanian and Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas and undoing all the good will he’s engendered during his first international tournament. Watch Kenneth Faried Continue FIBA Dunking Onslaught Versus Lithuania

Kenneth Faried

Team USA breakout star and World Cup MVP candidate Kenneth Faried entered the Americans’ semifinal game against Lithuania today shooting a scintillating 71.6 percent from the floor. After a 3-of-7 performance in the United States’ 96-68 win, however, Faried’s tourney-long field goal percentage has fallen to 67.6. Slacker. It’s safe to say that this pair of awesome dunks wasn’t to blame for his dreadful – italics for sarcasm – shooting performance. Read More »

Coach K Breaks Up On-Court Tussle After Team USA Beats Lithuania

Team USA, Lithuania (photo. _MarcusD_ GIF)

We thought the potential for on-court drama involving Team USA in the FIBA World Cup mostly died after France stunned the basketball world by beating host nation and American rival Spain in the quarterfinals yesterday. Well, we were at least sort of right. As the clock ticked to zeros in the United States’ ho-hum semifinal win over Lithuania today, a minor fracas involving several opposing players broke out on the floor. The keeper of peace? You guessed it – Team USA coach and Army man Mike Krzyzewski. Read More »
