The 33 Best Dime Magazine Covers In NBA 2K12

NBA 2K12

Back when NBA 2K12 dropped earlier this fall, those of you who are heavy into the My Player mode probably stumbled across a nice little tidbit in the game: If you’re good enough, you might just get the cover of Dime Magazine. Dope right? Well after that dropped, we started collecting all of the cover pictures people were tweeting to us and came up with a crazy photo gallery. Read More »

Shoot ‘Em Up: Building The Best Call of Duty Squad From The NBA

Liberation - Fall Capture

Skyrim is perched over my shoulder like a dark cloud, so I’m extra grateful the guys at Activision hooked me up with an Elite subscription. Now Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 can’t get old. For those of you who have the Elite pass, you’ve probably spent the last few days scampering around the endless staircases of Piazza, and slipping from bush to bunker in Liberation. It’s been a week now since the first content drop, and in-between Blake Griffin dunking on Kendrick Perkins so bad he had to delete his Twitter and the Orlando Magic turning into the Orlando Tragic, I’ve logged my share of time in the trenches. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Blasting Out With Exclusive New Multiplayer Maps

Content Season Tease

Had enough yet? For those of us who haven’t gotten enough Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 yet (I’ve been watching too much of The Wire on HBOGo and still haven’t even come close to the Prestige level yet… not like I would Prestige down anyways), starting this month, the guys from Activision are going to be pumping us full of new multiplayer maps. Starting January 24 when the brand new maps – Piazza and Liberation – are released, it’ll start a cycle of nine months where gamers will have the chance to get new maps and releases every month. NBA 2K12 Shows Us Exactly What Will Happen On Christmas Day

LeBron James

Are you making some bets and need help deciding who to take this Christmas Day? Check out the simulations from NBA 2K12. Okay, I wouldn’t do that, but as the most realistic sports video game yet, these videos are a good start. In anticipation of opening day in the NBA, 2K12 simulated all five scheduled games in an attempt to predict who will come out on top. While you might disagree with the results, the means are justified. The game recently released an update with pretty much every roster move that took place over the course of this offseason, including adding rookies, free agent signings, foreign players and even Metta World Peace. NBA 2K12′s ‘Legends Showcase’ Hits Hard With Replay Value

Legends Showcase

Pistol Pete better be unbeatable. He better be out there throwing in wild hook shots from behind the backboard, and tossing in scoop shots from the three-point line. For all of the eccentric stuff the Pistol did in the NBA, he’ll always be remembered more appropriately for his college theatrics, and the trick shots he mastered so completely (Remember all of those old H-O-R-S-E TV programs). Upon playing the “Legends Showcase” for the first time, and jumping immediately into H-O-R-S-E, I thought Pete Maravich needed to come correct. If the 2K developers didn’t arm him with justice, there would’ve been Hell to pay. Thankfully, the Pistol was at his gun-slinging best. Read More »

‘Legends Showcase’ Puts A Bow On Top Of NBA 2K12

Michael Jordan

The driving force behind NBA 2K12 was that it allowed you to determine, once and for all, the greatest player of all time. Now, with the downloadable content add-on “Legends Showcase,” you have 45 new NBA greats to choose from, and this time, the battle is going down in the center of Times Square.

I got a chance to get a sneak peak of the “Legends Showcase” add-on from our friends at Access Communications, and I came away feeling as though I could play these new modes for hours. Read More »

The Smoking Gun – Battlefield 3 Vs. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Battlefield 3

I can honestly say with a straight face that I’m obsessed. Can’t put the controller down. Can’t turn off the system. Can’t not scream “Oh my Goooood” every time I get picked off from the side in multiplayer. I can honestly say that because there are millions of people out there who have the affliction A LOT worse than I do. There are few things on the sticks that irk me more than an online lobby where I’m at a four skill level, and some of these other dudes are at 62 or 65. I’m talking playing for 35 hours after the game had been released just two days earlier. How does someone do that? Read More »

The Miami Heat & LeBron James: Kings Of The Video Game World

NBA 2K12

Is this the year for Miami’s redemption? The year LeBron turns it all around and rids himself of those evil demons? We may never know for sure. But at least in the video game world, 2011-12 is all about South Beach and LeBron James. Without the real NBA, I simulated a season to see what would happen. Of course, gamers know with stuff like this, there are always oddities (How did Antawn Jamison make an All-NBA Team? Or Dirk an All-Defensive Team?). But they seem to get the majority of stuff right. If we’re relying on NBA 2K12, then this year would’ve been all LeBron’s. Read More »

Dwight Howard Stars In ‘Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3′ Trailer

Dwight Howard

Back in August, my XBox Live subscription card ran out. Somehow – and I really have no clue how this happened – I’ve survived for nearly three months without any online multiplayer. No Black Ops. No sniper rifles. No temper tantrums. Back in my video game heyday, that would’ve never happened. It’s my drug. I get restless without it, my mind starts wandering and sometimes I just can’t function. I made it through detox these last few months, but I’m sorry to say that starting tonight, I’m getting back into the game. Read More »

NBA 2K12 Adding 45 New All-Time Players In ‘Legends Showcase’

Legends Showcase

NBA 2K12 won’t stop with just a few basketball legends. They’re going all out this holiday season, giving us everyone from George Mikan to Jamal Mashburn. It was recently announced that 2K would be offering a special mode – called the “Legends Showcase” – for download at some point soon where gamers would have the chance to hit the blacktop in Times Square and play one-on-one, H-O-R-S-E, 21 and any other number of games like two-on-two teammate challenges against some of the best the NBA has ever seen. We knew that. Now we also know what players will be in the add-on. If you didn’t think you would be purchasing the “Legends Showcase,” this might change your mind. Read More »
