Chris Paul, Mo Williams and the Los Angeles Clippers (don’t call them “Lob City” around Paul) are the second postseason victim at the surgically precise hands of the San Antonio Spurs. And while Paul also took a reporter to task for a question laden with moral victory undertones, he and Williams did emerge with a consolation prize. They tossed up the two best shots all night. So good we had to ask, which was better? Read More »

Wanted: Famous duo analogies for the Heat’s win on Sunday.
I ask because Miami’s Game 4 win over Indiana can be summarized by two names: LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. So it’s fitting the two hooked up for one of the best buckets of the night on James’ no-look assist right past two Pacers. Read More »

Indiana’s Lance Stephenson had to have known while he was putting his hands around his own neck that the hoops world would see it. He had to have known, at least, that Miami would see it. So if he knew even one of those two, he should have known the Heat weren’t going to be happy about it. Specifically, Juwan Howard. Read More »

Kyrie Irving has done some cool stuff with Pepsi MAX in the past, but nothing like this. Remember those old “The LeBrons” commercials? Tell me Irving couldn’t pull off something like that. Here he is teaching the young fellas a thing or two as an old man known simply as “Uncle Drew.” Irving actually wrote and directed this short clip himself. Watch as Uncle Drew shuts down the Clark’s Pond Courts in Bloomfield, N.J. Read More »

Because we once put Lance Stephenson on the cover of his magazine, and because this happened last night in a pivotal playoff game, it was ripe for some “Born Ready” jokes. In the midst of the carnage in Indiana last night, LeBron missed a technical free throw and Stephenson decided to inject himself in the action for once by flashing the choke sign at James. Actually it was more like Caron Butler serves up the facial, but in the process hits Tim Duncan across the face with his off arm, thus forcing Duncan to go reeling. Watching this play live, I didn’t notice that and started laughing at Duncan’s walk of shame. At the end of the night though, none of this mattered. The Clippers were destroyed and Butler didn’t do anything outside of one tiny third quarter run. Read More »

Kevin Garnett wasn’t about to let some massive Sixer fan throw him off his game. Kudos to that Philly dude though. This is something normally reserved for drunk frat kids at a college campus. Read More »

The Boston Celtics set out to teach the youn 76ers a lesson last night in Game 3 of their playoff series. Mission accomplished.
If Philly had one true bright spot, it was the play of Thad Young, who put up 22 points in 26 minutes and unleashed this monster block on Brandon Bass: Read More »

We’ve seen some big leads vanish this spring. The Grizzlies famously melted down in Game 1 against the Clippers in the first round, a game that probably cost them a shot at the semifinals. But to blow a game on the road after holding a seven-point lead with two minutes left is equally as damaging. The Lakers are now down 0-2 to a better team with homecourt advantage, and over his entire career, Kobe has won only one series after losing the first two games. In other words, the Lakers are pretty much done. Read More »
