New York Knicks GM: Raymond Felton Was Better Value Than Jeremy Lin

Jeremy Lin

At some point in the very near future, we are most likely going to know if the New York Knicks made the right call resisting the pressure/temptation to back up the Brinks’ truck to pay Jeremy Lin in the offseason. As you know, the Knicks chose not to match Houston’s three-year, $25 million offer sheet to Lin, opting instead to sign former Knick PG Raymond Felton to play point for them this season. [Related: Is Jeremy Lin the NBA’s most overrated star?]

Yesterday at Knicks Media Day (where it was all business), team GM Glen Grunwald talked for the first time about the difficulty of that decision. Read More »

Dime’s 2012 NBA Free Agent Tracker

Deron Williams

Two years ago, names like James, Wade, Bosh, Johnson and Stoudemire set the NBA offseason on fire and completely revamped what free agency was like. It created a boon of interest in the sport, and the residue effects are still being felt today. Not even last year’s extended lockout could do enough to damper the enthusiasm people have for this time of year, when there are more rumors and trade reports than basketballs being dribbled and dunked. This summer, we don’t have quite the star power of 2010, but we also don’t have the abbreviated offseason from 2011. Now, 2012 kind of feels like the best of both worlds. Read More »

Report: Steve Nash Is More Than Likely On His Way Out Of Phoenix

The Steve Nash Blue Nailhead Suit

According to Paul Calvisi of KTAR Radio in Phoenix (via Pro Basketball Talk), the Suns have offered free agent Steve Nash a paltry 2 year, $12 million contract, which pales in comparison to the reported, 3 years, $36 million offer from the Toronto Raptors. The New York Knicks are also still in play for Nash, hoping to pull off a sign-and-trade which would more than likely require Landry Fields in the deal. And don’t expect Dallas to remain quiet – they’ll make a run at Nash if Deron Williams decides to stay in Brooklyn. What’s abundantly clear, however, is that the Suns are all but bowing out of the Nash sweepstakes. Read More »
