Kirk Hinrich, Klay Thompson

The Warriors won their 12th game in a row on Saturday when they handed the Chicago Bulls a 112-102 loss in Chicago. This despite 22 points and 20 rebounds by Pau Gasol. One play in particular showcases just how dangerous the Dubs have been this season when Klay Thompson‘s head-fake sent Aaron Brooks sprawling. Read More »

Chicago Bulls reserve guard Aaron Brooks had 53 career blocks in six seasons coming into 2014-2015. Last night against the Orlando Magic, the diminutive University of Oregon product managed what has to be his most impressive swat to date. Watch the 6-0, 161-pound Brooks spring off two feet to authoritatively block the shot of Orlando Magic seven-footer Nikola Vucevic – as a help defender! Read More »

Video: Harrison Barnes Smashes On Aaron Brooks

Harrison Barnes

The Dubs had already secured the No. 6 seed in the West before last night’s game against the Nuggets, so Mark Jackson rested his starters. That meant Harrison Barnes (30 points) and Jordan Crawford (41 points) shouldered the majority of the offensive load in Golden State’s 116-112 win. Read More »

2014 NBA Trade Deadline Roundup

Jordan Hamilton

There were a lot of ancillary deals on top of a few we’ve already mentioned as the NBA’s trade deadline came and went at 3 p.m. today. We told you about the stunner at the end between the Pacers and Sixers, and the Bucks-Bobcats swap that improved Charlotte’s three-point shooting. Then there was the three-teamer sending 37-year-old Andre Miller to Washington to back up John Wall, and the Spencer Hawes dump to the Cavs for youngsters as Sam Hinkie continues to stockpile picks and money like they’re nuclear weapons and it’s 1968. Finally, last night Steve Blake got dealt to the Warriors. Here are the rest of deals that went down during a hectic 24 hours. Read More »

10 Average NBA Players That Are Actually Unstoppable In NBA 2K14

NBA 2K14

In recent years, the NBA 2K series has become the mecca of sports competition gaming–damaging friendships one Kevin Durant game-winner at a time. For me, it’s the ultimate source of competition in my college apartment. Much like there is a “zone” in real life basketball that players get into, there’s a certain “zone” one can enter during a game of 2K, when all of those pull-up transition threes are dropping and every bounce seems to go your way. Chandler Parsons Ruins Another Amazing Kevin Love Outlet Pass

Chandler Parsons Corey Brewer

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has become one of our favorite players to watch this season. And it’s not just the three-point range, the rebounds, the passing (career high 4.5 APG), or the league-leading win shares (3.1). No, it’s those glorious outlet passes Love throws that bring us so much joy. Unfortunately, possibly his best outlet pass of the season was thwarted by Chandler Parsons last night. Read More »

Chris Paul’s Top 10 Crossovers

Chris Paul

Chris Paul (photo. Daymon Gardner)

[Happy birthday to one of our favorite players, Chris Paul. For his big day, check out this list we put together a little while back celebrating CP3’s Top 10 Crossovers.]

Chris Paul is the best point guard in the NBA. There’s no debating that. Anything you need from a point guard Paul can do. Need assists? Paul dished 9.7 assists a night this season. Need defense? Paul led the league in steals with 2.4 a game. Need points? Paul was third in scoring on the Los Angeles Clippers with 16.4 a night (that number jumped to 22.8 in the playoffs). Need ballhandling? Paul dribbles like the basketball is just an extension of his fingers. Read More »

Brandon Jennings Dishes 19 Assists; Jrue Holiday Wins His Duel With Stephen Curry

Brandon Jennings

We took a break from hitting replay on the new Game of Thrones trailer to catch the Toronto/Milwaukee game, and outside of the terrible jersey choices (when did this trend begin of both teams wearing away uni colors? It needs to end now), the matchup was surprisingly awesome. The Bucks won 122-114 after dominating the overtime period, mainly because Ersan Ilyasova (29 points, 11 rebounds) morphed into a Hall of Famer at times in the second half and OT, and because Brandon Jennings morphed into Magic Johnson. Rudy Gay Saves Memphis; A King Makes A Game-Winner In D.C.

Rudy Gay

The last time Rudy Gay posted up Evan Turner, the Sixers appointed nerd damn near ripped Gay’s arm out of his socket. That was back in 2011, and since then, Gay, Zach Randolph and the Grizz can’t go a week without someone pointing out that their marriage is doomed for failure. This time, the Gay-on-Turner post-up worked out a little better in Memphis’ three-point win in Philadelphia. Read More »

Fantasy Basketball: The Week’s Best Pickups (11.26)

Aaron Brooks

FRESH PICKINGS: Aaron Brooks (10 percent owned in Yahoo!, 1 percent owned in ESPN) It looks like the Kings’ point guard situation is finally resolving itself, with Aaron Brooks leading the pack of late. After a clunker in his first start against Brooklyn, he has averaged 14.3 points, 2.6 assists and 2.6 threes per game. He’s never going to dominate any defensive stats and he may sometimes tank your field goal percentage, but it was just three seasons ago when Brooks was a hot commodity in fantasy, pouring in 19.6 points on 2.5 threes per game for the Houston Rockets. He is well worth a speculative add. Read More »
