Last year the Nuggets finished 54-28, won the Northwest Division and pushed the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals. What did they do this offseason? Lose Linas Kleiza to Europe, lose Dahntay Jones to Indiana and lose J.R. Smith to a seven-game suspension. So while the other elite teams in the West reloaded this summer, it’s about time Denver does the same. Read More »

Without a doubt, the Nuggets were one of the most fun teams to watch in the NBA last season. Perhaps it’s because Chris “Birdman” Andersen could potentially be my favorite player, or the fact that on any given night J.R. Smith could drop 50. But after they lost Linas Kleiza for nothing yesterday, Nuggets fans should start to get worried. Read More »

For a team in search of talent to add to their roster, looking at the list of available unrestricted free agents is depressing. While sure there are guys that are worthy of an NBA jersey, getting legit NBA minutes is a whole other story. While the prizes on the market are still clearly Allen Iverson, Lamar Odom and Andre Miller, here are the ten best available free agents left: Read More »

While everyone has been talking about how deep the NBA Draft was with point guards, there are a bunch of veteran free agent PGs that can push a franchise over the top. With that in mind, here are the top 10 unrestricted and restricted point guards this summer: Read More »

If the Nike Air Trainer 1 collaborated with Anthony Carter, it would officially be the greatest shoe of all time. Right now, it’s on the cusp. Nike has already created exclusive makeups for some of the sweetest athletes in the universe: Manny Pacquiao, Adrian Peterson, Brandon Roy, Larry Fitzgerald, and Troy Polomalu. Add AC in there and it’d be a sealed deal. Read More »

Carmelo was smooth as butter, but Kobe was the hot knife that ruined what should have been a Denver win last night in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals … With Carmelo getting savage buckets early and often, the Nuggets looked like they were gonna walk into Staples and blow the Lakers out. By the time L.A. hit 14 on the scoreboard in the first quarter, ‘Melo already had 14 by himself. The jump shot was flowing like liquor on the “Rock of Love” bus, and nobody could stop him. What better way for the Nuggets to put the kill shot to Dallas’ dome than, with just under a minute to go in last night’s Game 5, Kenyon Martin spiking a VICIOUS alley-oop finish (via J.R. Smith) on the dejected Mavs with the appropriate post-dunk antics as the Denver crowd lost their minds. It could only have been more perfect if K-Mart’s d-bag nemesis was there to get a well-deserved glare/scream/verbal ass-whuppin’ … You do have to give Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd credit for keeping Dallas in it well into the fourth quarter, because everything before that was conspiring for them to get Oz‘d. Game 7 of Hawks/Heat ended up being a(nother) blowout, but it at least offered a helpful reminder of how small the margin for error can be in the playoffs. Early in the second quarter, Atlanta was up by two in what had been a back-and-forth game. Then Flip Murray hit a wide-open three off a scramble for a loose ball, Joe Johnson drained a trey from one step behind the arc, then J.J. pulled up for another triple waaay behind the arc. In the course of about one minute the Hawks went from up being two, to being up 11, and after that it was just target practice. Read More »
