Last night’s NBA action was so full of highlights that we had to just run a top 10. Paul George had a ridiculous facial. Bismack Biyombo did the same. And JaVale McGee had another one of those plays that defies the basic physics of basketball. Of course, in the end, they all bowed down to LeBron James going “DeAndre Jordan” in Boston. Only one question though for whoever made this list: where is Avery Bradley‘s insane chase-down block?) Read More »

We mentioned this move in Smack, and as great as this finish was – one-handed, with the left, right over the top of Bismack Biyombo – Stacey King‘s call still beats it. King is always in rare form, and just minutes after this play, started lobbying that Chicago should have not one, not two, but three All-Stars (Luol Deng, Joakim Noah and… Carlos Boozer). The man loves him some Bulls. Read More »

FRESH PICKINGS:
Kawhi Leonard (56 percent owned in Yahoo!, 68 percent in ESPN)
After singing Kawhi Leonard’s praises a few weeks ago, he did me dirty by taking a little extra time to heal his bum knee. Now back in action, he put up 17 points, four rebounds, two assists, five steals and three treys in his first start back. In fantasy, Kawhi is a steals specialist, and while he isn’t going to wow you in any other category, he’s not going to hurt you anywhere either. Read More »

We don’t know anything concrete about the future of this season – our crystal ball broke a few weeks ago and the Ouija board was tossed long ago. We have our ideas – here’s who we think will take home MVP – but we don’t know, for example whether this Houston Rockets team will contend in the Western Conference. This team will, however, be fun to watch. It’s like this is an “Out to Prove Ourselves” multi-city, national stadium tour sweeping across America. Read More »

While the NFL has issues with concussions, the NHL can’t field a product, and all of like seven people care about baseball, we’re on the cusp of what figures to be one of the best NBA seasons in the past 20-30 years. Stars in big cities. Rivalries. Incredible young talent. Older cats still bringing it like Susan Sarandon. And we also have LeBron James, who’s not only the best player in the world, but wants to be… the greatest player ever to pick up a basketball. Read More »

The NBA unveiled their NBA All-Defensive First Team yesterday and it looked like this: Tony Allen and Chris Paul at the guards, LeBron James and Serge Ibaka at the forwards, and Dwight Howard in the middle. No Andre Iguodala. No Tyson Chandler – the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year. That doesn’t make much sense right? Now, the NBA has released their 10 best defensive plays of the year, and Chandler doesn’t make that list either. He’s not feeling the love at all. Read More »

The NBA’s Rookie of the Year Award had been all but clinched by Kyrie Irving sometime around the midway point of the season. But as great as he was – hitting game-winners, dishing out beastly statlines – he didn’t have the best play from a rookie this season. That went to some cat out in the Western Conference who is already drawing Dennis Rodman comparisons … Read More »

This is one of the greatest things we’ve seen this year. Charlotte might have all their ping-pong balls in one basket this summer (Anthony Davis), but this video offers up a few other suggestions to make sure they don’t suck so bad next season. Read More »
