Healthy Deron Williams Has His Confidence Back: “People Can’t Guard Me”

Deron Williams, Carmelo Anthony

For ardent NBA followers like us, there’s little more satisfying than when a player overcomes a spate of injuries to regain the level of play that most assumed was unattainable. Just imagine how Deron Williams must feel, then. After claiming all offseason that chronic ankle issues were finally behind him, the Brooklyn Nets’ point guard is backing up that optimism on the court in the season’s early going. Read More »

GIF: J.R. Smith’s Spinning No-Look Dime To Cole Aldrich

Alan Anderson, J.R. Smith

The Knicks were awful last night. Just dreadful, and Carmelo Anthony continued to struggle shooting the ball (he’s just 10-for-41 in his last two games, both Knicks losses). The Nets jumped all over their intra-city rivals in a 110-99 game that was actually a lot worse before the Knicks partially recovered in the fourth. About the only positive for the Knicks was a slinky spin move by J.R. Smith before he scooped a no-look dime to Cole Aldrich. Read More »

Ricky Rubio Does Not Want To Forget Last Night’s Win

Ricky Rubio, Nikola Pekovic

The Timberwolves got a great road win in Brooklyn last night. Anthony Bennett even re-introduced himself to Mason Plumlee. When Nikola Pekovic spoke with the media after the game, he said the team will do their best to forget the win and move on to the next battle. Ricky Rubio very overtly disagrees. Read More »

Minnesota has a better record than the Cavs. After beating Brooklyn last night, 98-91, the ‘Wolves are 2-2, while the Cavs stumbled to 1-3. Jason Kidd Challenges Nets Owner To Game Of 1-On-1

Jason Kidd, Giannis Antetokounmpo

Earlier this week Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov sounded off on his former coach Jason Kidd in a highly entertaining chat with reporters. The Russian tycoon relayed the proverb, “Don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you,” and said, “I think we should get even,” after Kidd left Brooklyn in the lurch to sign a three-year, $15 million contract to coach the Bucks this summer. When Kidd was told about the comments, he had a pretty funny rebuttal: a one-on-one showdown between the two. Read More »

Prokhorov Isn’t Selling Team, Or Getting Married But Will Get Even With Kidd

Mikhail Prokhorov

Mercurial Nets owner and Russian oligarch Mikhail Prohorov made a rare media appearance at Brooklyn’s 116-85 smackdown of an injury-riddled Thunder team last night. He was in fine form, and spoke about his former coach, Jason Kidd, leaving for Milwaukee after a failed coup d’état of GM Billy King, his single lifestyle, and the ho-hum $144 million he lost on the team last year. Video: Mason Plumlee Beats Halftime Buzzer With The Quick Alley-Oop Finish

Mason Plumlee

The Oklahoma City Thunder felt the absence of their ailing superstars – Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook – on the court Monday night in their matchup with the Brooklyn Nets. Meanwhile, the Nets welcomed back Brook Lopez in his season debut after an 11-month absence, and they maintained complete control of the game throughout the night. However, one moment got the Barclays Center rocking to its loudest decimal just before halftime. Read More »

Photo: Nets’ Deron Williams Wins Halloween With Epic Khal Drogo Costume

Amy Williams, Deron Williams

Happy Halloween! We haven’t parsed through every NBA-related costume yet, but find it hard to believe one could be better than Deron Williams’. The Brooklyn Nets’ star dressed as an incredibly life-like Khal Drogo from “Game Of Thrones” as wife Amy played an equally impressive part as Khaleesi Daenerys Targaryen. Read More »

Rajon Rondo Rides Boston’s T Before Win Over The Nets

Mirza Teletovic, Rajon Rondo

It seems Rajon Rondo felt good to go around nap-time when the Brooklyn Nets were in Boston last night to tip off the 2014-15 season. Except, Rondo didn’t want to deal with Boston’s crazy traffic and opted to take public transportation to the game before helping the C’s eviscerate the Nets, 121-105. Read More »
