Stephen Curry & Golden State’s Playoff Run: Payback For All The Fans Who Never Left Them

Stephen Curry

To say that the Golden State Warriors fan base has been tortured over the years would be a huge understatement. It would be like calling Jackie Robinson important to baseball. He’s far more. There’s not a word to describe Jackie’s meaning to baseball. The Warriors fans have been beyond tortured, to the point where, again, there is no word to describe it. Read More »

The Top 10 Left-Handed NBA Players Ever

David Robinson, SI '96

Okay, so Monday was technically Left Hander’s Day. But you didn’t know that did you? I didn’t, not until about 10 p.m. that night because quite frankly, I never realized we had a Left Hander’s Day. So this post is a little late, but that doesn’t matter. You care about reading up on the 10 best lefties to ever put on a NBA uniform, not when you read about them. Read More »

Where Brooklyn At! “Dream Team” Collection

In honor of Team USA throttling Tunisia yesterday in very Dream Team-esque fashion, we figured we’d drop some info on another killer Olympic t-shirt release. Forget 2012, The 2008 Redeem Team Would Beat The Dream Team

The Dream Team

Last weekend I watched one of my favorite “Curb Your Enthusiasm” episodes, “Palestinian Chicken.” I tried coming up with my Mount Rushmore for Curb episodes but then my OCD kicked in and this sentence turned into a 20-minute meltdown – in case anyone was wondering. Now, for those who haven’t seen this episode or don’t watch the show, Larry David attends a dinner party with some close friends. As dinner is winding down, Juliet, the host, asks everyone how the potatoes were. The following takes place: Read More »

Chris Mullin Gets An Oakland Basketball Court Named After Him

Chris Mullin

One of the strangest events that happened in this lockout-shortened season was the Warriors jersey retirement ceremony for Chris Mullin. If you need a refresher of the night’s events, owner Joe Lacob got booed mercifully and fans had to be chided by Mullin and former Warriors great, Rick Barry. After all the booing subsided, the Warriors gifted the Mullin family an all-expense trip to Hawaii and finally hung his jersey up in the rafters. A strange ceremony, but a fitting tribute for one of the greatest players in Warrior history. Read More »

Danny Granger Rains Terror On Lob City; The Heat Burn The Suns

Danny Granger

There isn’t a franchise player in the NBA tougher to peg than Danny Granger. The man gets paid like a superstar, and he’s unquestionably the most talented scorer and all-around player on the Indiana Pacers. He’s hit his share of game-winners and will take on tough defensive assignments. But is Danny Buckets really that guy to take his team deep into the playoffs? Is he a go-to scorer, or just a really, really, really good spot-up shooter? Over the weekend Granger gave the Knicks bulletin-board material, then went out and got hobbled, Misery-style. But last night, Granger dropped 25 points on the Clippers to lead Indiana to an upset win … Read More »

Clip Of The Day: Team Owner Gets Booed By Warrior Fans During Chris Mullin’s Jersey Retirement

Joe Lacob

In case you hadn’t heard, the Warriors retired Chris Mullin‘s No. 17 last night in one of the most drawn-out jersey retirement ceremonies we’ve seen. Too bad the night wasn’t all his. It’ll forever be remembered – tainted – by Golden State’s owner Joe Lacob getting the treatment from the Warrior faithful. At first, Lacob appears shocked. Then he gets annoyed. Then it looks like he’s ready to find his mama and shed a few years. Read More »

The Bulls Annihilate An East Contender; Gilbert Arenas Finally Finds A Team

Joakim Noah

Actually, we’re not even sure we should call Orlando a contender after last night. They fell apart and surrendered to Carlos Boozer and the Bulls, 85-59. At home. With Derrick Rose in street clothes. Boozer had 24 and 13 while John Lucas III continued to play out of his mind, burning Orlando in the first quarter and finishing with 20 points in 21 minutes, and helping steer Tom Thibodeau to 100 career coaching wins. Thibs is also the fastest coach in NBA history to reach that milestone … Read More »
