While Day 2 of the NCAA Tournament wasn’t as wild and crazy as Day 1, it wasn’t without drama. But we’ll get to that in a little bit … Apparently not worried about the college competition, the NBA had an 11-game schedule that included some good matchups. Hawks/Bobcats featured the return of Joe Johnson, who’d missed a couple games with an Achilles injury. I’ve said it before and I’m saying it again: In just about every sport, you can’t accurately judge a draft class for at least three years after the fact (and longer than that in baseball).
Going into the ‘09 NBA Draft, everybody decided early that the class was weak, but look around the League now. Tyreke Evans and Stephen Curry look like certified future superstars, while Brandon Jennings isn’t far behind. Read More »
Last week we asked the Dime faithful for your favorite and least-favorite NBA nicknames. It took about 22 seconds for the wounded, jaded Knicks fans at MSG to fall in love with Tracy McGrady. As soon as Knicks/Thunder tipped off and it became obvious T-Mac was the best player on the team and genuinely psyched to be in New York, the crowd was his. McGrady dropped 26 points (10-17 FG) and 5 assists in what was the most electric NY home game of the year, blowing past defenders for and-ones, hitting jumpers off-glass, and making some sick passes … With eight minutes to go in the fourth, the Knicks were down four and the crowd started chanting “We want T-Mac!” Read More »

And this morning, I was able to do just that. Read More »
