Before he started twisting his ankles every other game, Stephen Curry delivered one of the most memorable NCAA Tournament performances. In the 2008 NCAA Tournament, the dude dropped, in succession, 40 against Gonzaga, 30 against Georgetown, 33 against Wisconsin and 25 against Kansas. He was so good even LeBron couldn’t help himself, cheering wildly from the stands during a few of Curry’s games. Could we see another run like this during this month’s tournament? I can still remember that final minute at Ford Field. It was March 2008 and Kansas was squaring off against Cinderella story Davidson in the Elite Eight; Stephen Curry was having the tournament run of his life. I was in the stands that day in Motown sitting among the Davidson fans, wearing the one purple shirt in a sea of red. With Curry hitting that big three with 54 seconds left to cut Kansas’ lead to two, it seemed like the momentum had shifted in Davidson’s favor. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the game ended on a desperation heave from Jason Richards in the final seconds after Curry was double-teamed and was forced to pass it off. Read More »
