LeBron Wants To Be The Best Player Ever; James Harden Gets Traded To Houston

LeBron James

While the NFL has issues with concussions, the NHL can’t field a product, and all of like seven people care about baseball, we’re on the cusp of what figures to be one of the best NBA seasons in the past 20-30 years. Stars in big cities. Rivalries. Incredible young talent. Older cats still bringing it like Susan Sarandon. Video: Orlando’s DeQuan Jones Dunks All Over Detroit’s Top Pick, Andre Drummond

DeQuan Jones

You tell me: could a guy who averaged just 5.9 points a game as a senior at Miami really make an NBA roster? In Orlando, it would make for a cool story, but alas, even after DeQuan Jones ripped off a scalping of Andre Drummond‘s head at the rim in Detroit’s ugly 112-86 win last night, the 6-8 guard is competing with Christian Eyenga, Justin Harper, Armon Johnson and Josh McRoberts for the final roster spot. And even though he scored 22 last night, Jones’ chances of making the Magic’s final roster are pretty slim. Read More »

Paul Pierce Drops Buckets In A Loss; Chicago Shows Off Their New Point Guard

Paul Pierce

For years, even as he masqueraded between the NBA’s best passer and a subsequent weirdo off the court, we heard the Celtics’ were Rajon Rondo‘s team. In a sense, we were right: they go as he goes, and during the playoffs – when the chips are most valuable – Rondo perennially turned in near-ESPN Classic performances. But did Boston follow his lead in the locker room? Did he have the presence to outweigh Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett? Read More »

Video: DeQuan Jones Throws Down A Summer League Thunder Dunk

DeQuan Jones

Cape Canaveral is 55 miles away from Orlando, so it’s fitting the site of so many NASA liftoffs is not that far away from DeQuan Jones‘ thunder dunk on Tuesday. Jones threw down off two feet from the baseline and nearly got his head to rim level in Orlando Summer League action against Kyle Singler. Read More »

The Top 10 Dunkers In The 2012 NBA Draft

Jeremy Lamb

To call this past season’s dunk contest embarrassing might be an understatement. While fans dream of the stars duking it out like the good ol’ days, the NBA continues to try and market their younger, up-and-coming players. All of this public outcry isn’t enough to make Dwyane Wade change his mind. Back in February, he told The Palm Beach Post, “You don’t want to see me in that. I’m not a Slam Dunk kind of person. I’m a game dunker. I’m not creative enough. I don’t jump as high as those guys, or do all these things in the air that they can do. No one wants to see me in there. That’s why I have never raised my eyebrow to being in the dunk contest.” Read More »
