Apparently it’s DeShaun Thomas Day here at Dime. In a second story, he apparently pulled the bizarre move of refusing to give the San Antonio Spurs his cell phone when they asked him for it at the NBA Pre-Draft combine. Read More »

We’ve heard this sort of thing before with Greg Oden, so take it for what it’s worth. [Back in January, he assured people was working his way back to a 2013-14 comeback.]
Former Ohio State star forward DeShaun Thomas has apparently been working out with Oden in Indianpolis as part of his pre-NBA Draft preparation and is raving about Greg. Read More »

The West Region is the cause for millions of brackets being busted. With No. 1 seed Gonzaga, No. 3 seed New Mexico and No. 4 Kansas State all eliminated, Ohio State is the only team that has held its seeding and reached the Sweet Sixteen. If the referees didn’t blow the block/charge call late against Iowa State, it is likely that Ohio State would be done for the season. Read More »

Finally, it’s time for March Madness. Everyone is online filling out brackets, looking up the best players and trying to figure out who’s going to win the tourney. That also means that the NBA playoffs are only one month away, which also means that the NBA Lottery is coming up soon too. Read More »

Give NBA uber-dork Daryl Morey some credit. The Houston general manager somehow took the Rockets through the final bitter months of the Tracy McGrady era, beyond the retirement of Yao Ming, and even on past the whole Dwight Howard saga. All along, the Rockets stayed competitive. No one’s talking championships in H-Town, but they’re always a solid team, and that’s more than the have-nots in Charlotte, Sacramento and New Orleans can say. Read More »

*This will be the first in a four-part series this week where we will have four writers arguing the national championship credentials for the only NCAA teams left in March Madness: Ohio State, Kansas, Kentucky and Louisville.*

All season the hype has been on Kentucky, Syracuse and North Carolina – rightfully so to an extent, but there is a little problem with that: the Ohio State Buckeyes are not being mentioned. Well that dominant Big East regular season champ Syracuse was eliminated by Ohio State in the Elite 8, and North Carolina was ousted by the team they face next in the Final Four – Kansas. Read More »

Hidden between the lines of the most depressing sports stories of the week – Penn State’s cover-up scandal putting a dark cloud over college football, and the NBA lockout threatening to put pro basketball on indefinite hiatus – are two words that should cheer up anybody who frequents this site: “college” and “basketball.” Read More »

*College basketball is here (unlike the NBA), and this year might be one of the best in recent memory. The powerhouse is back, while the Cinderellas believe. That’s a deadly combination. We know some of y’all have been asking for some previews. We have you covered – the top 16 teams in the nation will be previewed individually in the next few weeks. After we broke down Big East giants Syracuse and UConn yesterday, we’ll keep this going with No. 3-ranked Ohio State (ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll).* Read More »
