By now you need no introduction to the Goodman League. And as you’ve come to expect, their 2011 season took the game to new heights. The following mixtape features highlights from both the Goodman League and Goodman Coalition games, and after watching, you’ll realize why some call D.C.’s proving ground the best summer league in the nation.
Remember Jahmar Young? After three solid years at New Mexico State, he went undrafted in 2010. (It probably didn’t help that he was arrested just days after declaring.) Since then, he’s suited up for teams in Serbia, Belgium and most recently the Goodman Coalition. With that, watch as the Baltimore native does Michael Beasley dirty.
Remember James Gist? After four years at the University of Maryland, he was drafted 57th overall by the Spurs in 2008 but never saw a minute of NBA action. Since then, he’s suited up in Italy, Russia and most recently Serbia alongside Wizards incoming rookie Jan Vesely. It’s time to add the Goodman Coalition to that list and a nominee for Dunk of the Summer…
Last we told you about the Goodman Coalition, it was a new spinoff of the legendary Goodman League and close to starting. Now, nearly a month into the indoor league, the number of players that have stopped by and played could fill an NBA roster. A new indoor league called the Goodman Coalition will start on June 18 in Washington, D.C. It will be the first indoor run for the Goodman League, but a reinstatement of sorts of the old “Urban Coalition” indoor league. Read More »
