As you know, all eyes in the hoops world yesterday were on the Goodman League vs. Drew League rematch in Long Beach, Calif. Couldn’t make it in the gym? We got you. Here are highlights from the Drew’s 151-144 victory in which John Wall‘s 55 points and Kevin Durant‘s 50 points was countered by 48 from James Harden. Tony Parker basically just predicted a title. “If I play the entire season, we’ll go for the title,” he told the French daily L’Equipe. Did we catch you? He’s not talking about an NBA championship. Parker just signed to play with ASVEL Villeurbanne, the French League team of which he is a part owner. Should the lockout continue to drag on, TP will be in Europe balling for $1,995 a month, and he says if he’s there all season, the squad is going to win a title. Pretty lofty expectations. And this Saturday in Indianapolis, he and the Goodman League beat the Indy Pro-Am in the other great exhibition battle of the weekend. A few weeks ago we introduced 35th Hour, a new web series starring the one and only Kevin Durant. In the second episode, KD gives us an inside look into his offseason workout routine with his trainer Justin Zormelo, as well as his matchup against LeBron James in the Goodman League-Melo League showdown in Baltimore.
Every time someone comes forward to attempt to break a story about the breakup of the Thunder, we get hit with a spinning forehand right back at our faces. Recently, a team workout was organized for four days on the University of Texas campus. 10 of the team’s 15-man roster showed up. Out of the players who didn’t show up, some were overseas, another was recently married and the other two were Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson. This came just before there were reports that Perkins and Russell Westbrook had problems last year. A team with rifts and chemistry problems doesn’t do this, trust us.
