The Knicks blew out the Nuggets last night at Madison Square Garden, possibly cooling the embers under Mike Woodson‘s seat in the process. As is typical at Knicks games, there were celebrities in the house for the Friday night affair, including television journalist Katie Couric. What we didn’t know is she’s a huge J.R. Smith fan. Blake Griffin

For only a half season’s worth of basketball, the NBA’s top athletes have put together a strong resume and large volume of impressive slams, so much so that we had to list 100 of them. There weren’t any that had to be forced on, either, to complete the list. No, there were plenty of worthy candidates to make this list go beyond the threshold of 100. Read More »

Two of the worst teams in the worst conference squared off at BMO Bradley Center in Milwaukee last night. The Bucks, with the worst record in the league, beat the visiting Knicks after a three-pointer by Brandon Knight broke a 95-95 tie with just 2.4 seconds left game. The big shot came the possession after Carmelo Anthony knocked down a game-tying three-pointer of his own. Not only that, but the Knicks lost to the worst team in the league with J.R. Smith playing his best (shooting) game of the year. Read More »

After winning five straight to start the year, then losing their next five, the helter-skelter Knicks have now won four straight after Thursday night’s commanding win over the visiting Cavs, 117-86. Even the perpetual headache that is J.R. Smith showed out on Thursday night, scoring 19 points, including two memorable one-on-one moves that broke the ankles of Tristan Thompson and froze the underwhelming No. 1 pick, Anthony Bennett. Come check out the highlights only JR Swish could bring us. Read More »

Pierre the Pelican

Monster dunks. Nothing-but-net threes. Alley-oops. All are wonderful moments we’ve witnessed so far this season. There have been plenty of good moments: KD‘s recent scoring outburst, ‘Melo‘s record-breaking game, and Greg Oden‘s return… none of which you’ll see on this list. This is dedicated to the bad and the ugly, the plays that left you thinking WTF was that, what were they thinking? This season has been one of the most competitive and fun seasons to watch in recent memory, but it’s only right we have some fun at the halfway point. Read More »

The 5 Most Arrogant Players In The NBA

Kobe Bryant

LeBron James (Steve Mitchell/USA TODAY Sports)

In light of Richard Sherman‘s postgame explosion on Michael Crabtree after beating the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship, I decided to put together a list of the talented yet most arrogant players currently in the NBA.

Much of the media was in an uproar about Sherman’s comments, but trash talk is what makes sports great. The five players that have made my list are not only arrogant and cocky but have a track record of thinking much like Sherman: that they are the best in the league at what they do. Read More »

After saving the ball from going out of bounds at the other end, Chandler trailed down the middle of the court and arrived just in time to connect on the slick lob from J.R. Smith. Read More »

It might get lost. Actually, it will get lost because there’s no way people are talking about anything but ‘Melo’s Madison Square Garden, Knicks and personal career-high 62 on Friday night. But J.R. Smith was the second-leading scorer with 14, and he dished a couple pretty dimes in-between all those ‘Melo buckets. Read More »

The 20 Biggest Wastes Of Talent In The NBA

Hasheem Thabeet

Every name in this list had the potential to be stars in the NBA but have yet to — or will never — reach it. The list includes players drafted high that were expected to develop into quality professionals and have failed to do so. Most of these players have showed signs of success at times but have not lived up to expectations so far in their career, whether it’s injuries that are the culprits, or perhaps a messy attitude.
