J.R. Smith did not have a very good Game 1 against the Pacers this weekend, going just 4-15 (plus one tremendous flop) from the field for 17 points in the New York loss. When people started tweeting that his poor shooting was a result of him partying at the 40/40 club the night before, J.R. had some thoughts for the critics. Read More »

When was the last time you saw a player dominate a playoff game with a 14-point, eight-rebound night? It doesn’t happen often. But Roy Hibbert dictated everything in Indiana’s seven-point Game 1 win in New York, controlling the paint without fouling while limiting the Knicks and Carmelo Anthony (10-for-28 shooting) to 43 percent from the floor. Curt Schilling knows a little something about coming back from 0-3 holes. He was a pitcher on the Boston Red Sox 2004 team that dropped the first three games of the American League Championship Series against the Yankees before recovering to win four straight. Read More »

“You can write the obituary; I’m not.” Even after losing star point guard Rajon Rondo to a torn ACL earlier this season, Doc Rivers wasn’t ready to die. He made sure the Celtics weren’t either. Apparently, the Knicks missed the memo. Read More »

We’re not even through the first round of the NBA Playoffs and we’ve already seen game-winners, fights, sweeps, comebacks, and yes, monster highlights. The most amazing thing about this list you’re about to see isn’t necessarily that all of the plays came within the past two weeks, but that LeBron James doesn’t make one single appearance. This is actually kind of hilarious on multiple levels. The Knicks actually followed along with Kenyon Martin‘s call to wear black to the Game 5 tonight for the Celtics “funeral.” Read More »

Here’s the new reality: Do not make Nate Robinson angry; you will not like him when he’s angry. C.J. Watson got Nate angry in the first half of yesterday’s incredible triple-OT Bulls/Nets game with this altercation that very nearly erupted in an all-out brawl (and sent Robinson to the locker room to clean up a cut), sowing the seeds for an all-time Nate eruption later in the game: Read More »

Sometimes in the NBA Playoffs, two squads will matchup and eventually it’ll become so obvious who the better team is that even the players just have to give in. The Knicks and Celtics have reached that point, and they got there in the early moments of the second half during New York’s 90-76 Game 3 win. Carmelo Anthony was lighting people up on his way to 26 points, and whenever he took a break, J.R. Smith (15 points) responded with fadeaways and pull-ups. Read More »

While the first round of the 2013 NBA Playoffs is well underway, the NBA regular season awards are wrapping up. Every year there are some awards that are obvious no-brainers (hint: LeBron for MVP), but there are also the ones that ignite debate among fans and analysts. Read More »
