GoldenEye 007: Reloaded

Ever since Daniel Craig took over as James Bond, I’ve sort of drifted from the series. Of course when the newer Bond movies are on Spike or some other random channel, I’m reeled in – and there’s little I can do about it. There’s just something disarming. I fall for it all. The girls, the ridiculous escapes, the enemy’s atrocious aim.

Ultimately, though, nothing ever defined the Bond series as much as GoldenEye, the video game for Nintendo 64. It was my first ever first-person shooter, my first real video game memory. I had friends stay with me a couple weeks ago, and they were amazed/disgusted at how many pairs of kicks I had in my apartment. To me, the boxes had just become part of the room’s motif, not a sign that I should be recommended for that A&E show “Hoarders.” So after counting them all and realizing I have 62 pairs in my room (with at least 20 at my parent’s house in Vermont and about a dozen or so at the office), you can understand that it takes something crazy to get my attention in this world filled with millions of sneakers. Photos: The guns that got Gilbert Arenas in trouble

Personally, I’m against the possession of firearms, even if obtained legally. But daaamn, I’ve been rethinking this stance ever since seeing the photos released by Gilbert Arenas’ lawyers of the now-infamous guns he brought to the Wizards locker room.

Besides your garden variety of different-sized black guns, The Sixth Sense brought a Golden Gun that makes the piece James Bond carried (you all remember GoldenEye 007 for Nintendo 64) look comparably tame.
