Watch An Epic Compilation Of The Sickest Crossovers From Last Season

Isaiah Thomas

The basketball public measures the quality of a crossover mostly by the reaction of the defender. If he reaches and misses – good. If he loses balance – better. If he falls entirely – best. But that’s not always the best way to judge the merit of juke dribble. Context always matters in basketball, and the defender’s quality, size, and position is overlooked far too often in assessing crossovers. If Ty Lawson shakes Al Jefferson to the floor in an isolation at the top of the key, that doesn’t mean Lawson’s cross is any better than a similar one done by Stephen Curry that barely fools Ricky Rubio. But it sure does seem that way, and rightfully so; not even a poster dunk asserts a player’s dominance over an opponent like an ankle-breaking crossover. Read More »

Dime Q&A: The Teague Brothers Shine A Light On The City They Love

Marquis Teague, Jeff Teague

The Teague brothers, Marquis and Jeff, provided a high level free basketball camp for boys grades 4-8 this past Saturday, June 7 at their Indianapolis Pike High School alma mater. Coming from the inner city, Jeff and Marquis Teague have banded together to provide an elite basketball instruction camp that will not only help the youngsters with their skills, but — perhaps more importantly — help kids grasp the concept of basketball as a tool to reach college and improve their future. The NBA Playoffs are in full swing. There are no weak teams left but rather just the mighty squads that are all capable of winning at this level in this kind of environment. Because of the level of talent from team to team, games–especially those that mean so much–come down to the wire and it is up to the “closer” to bring his ninth inning heat and finish out the contest. The 10 Best Moments From The NBA Playoffs So Far

Vince Carter

Vince Carter (Kevin Jairaj/USA TODAY Sports)

Good news: We are still very early into the conference semifinals, meaning there is still a lot more trash-talking to be had, buzzer-beaters to be made and dunks to be slammed for the rest of the playoffs.

Bad news: We are already in May at the conference semifinals, meaning in a little over one month the NBA season will be over. And that sucks. Read More »

Damian Lillard

Damian Lillard (Craig Mitchelldyer/USA TODAY Sports)

After a barrage of Game 7s this weekend, the first round is now finally over. There isn’t one second-round series that looks to be a mismatch; even Brooklyn won all four games against the Heat this season. We can only hope the semis live up to the standard the first round set, which included unbelievable highlights from Russell Westbrook, Vince Carter, Paul Pierce and, of course, Damian Lillard. Video: Ian Mahinmi Rejects Jeff Teague At The Rim

Ian Mahinmi, Jeff Teague

Right before the half, Atlanta point guard Jeff Teague split two Pacers defenders and took to the air for what looked to be a pretty epic jam. Except Ian Mahinmi was having none of that, and snuffed him right at the rim before the second-quarter buzzer sounded. Read More »

Dime Q&A: Jeff Teague On His 4,000 Sneakers, Underdog Status Against Indy & More

Jeff Teague

Jeff Teague wasn’t supposed to be in Atlanta this year. He signed Milwaukee’s four-year, $32 million offer sheet this past offseason and appeared ready to move on and play for his old coach with the Bucks. But Atlanta matched the deal and now he and the eighth-seeded Hawks are one home game away from becoming just the sixth team in NBA history to upset a No. 1 seed in the first round.

Even on the cusp of history, when we talked with Teague during his off-day yesterday, he was as cool as a cucumber and almost exclusively concerned with playing well for his team. Read More »

Jeff Teague Hits Disputed Sideline 3-Pointer & Does MJ Shrug

Jeff Teague

Within the last three minutes of Atlant and Indiana’s Game 3 Larry Bird peeked at between his fingers, the Hawks’ underrated point guard Jeff Teague hit an off-balance three-pointer as the shot clock expired. It was a huge part of shredding the last hopes of an Indy comeback; except, Teague was also out of bounds on the play, which isn’t reviewable. Read More »

GIF: Jeff Teague Crossover Badly Burns Evan Turner

Evan Turner, Jeff Teague

The Hawks upset the Pacers in Indiana yesterday, becoming the third road team with a win on the first day of the 2014 NBA Playoffs. Point guard Jeff Teague and his 28 points were a large reason why the Hawks throttled Indiana so brilliantly in their Game 1 win. Watch as Teague crosses up Evan Turner so bad, he’s probably still walking around in a cloud of Teague’s dust. Read More »
