Kings’ DeMarcus Cousins Refuses To Shake J.J. Redick’s Hand

J.J. Redick, DeMarcus Cousins

Perhaps DeMarcus Cousins has mysophobia? Or maybe the 6-11 Kings big man just hates the Clippers that much. After grabbing Isaiah Thomas away from Chris Paul last week, he refused to shake J.J. Redick‘s hand during Friday’s Kings-Clips game. The reaction from Redick is perfect befuddlement. Read More »

Why The Clippers Will Make The NBA Finals

Chris Paul

The Los Angeles Clippers haven’t had expectations this high in years. Since Chris Paul joined the team they have made strides, becoming a title contender and increasing their win total by at least eight games in each of the last two seasons.

Despite having an average start to the season, the Clippers have shown glimpses of a team ready to push their way into being a top team in the NBA. Read More »

Video: Chris Paul Puts Jeremy Lin On Ice & The Clippers Hand The Rockets Their First Loss

Chris Paul

The Jeremy Lin jeers continue. The rising tide of Linsanity crested two season’s ago, and now pseudo-analysts (aka anyone with a Twitter account) can’t wait to churn flotsam all over his game. Chris Paul made that an easy task last night, juking and stuttering as he generally bamboozled the Taiwanese-born Lin. The Rockets didn’t recover from the Clippers’ backcourt onslaught during Dwight Howard‘s return to Staples Center. Read More »

Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Almost Ruined Clippers’ Summer; Doc Rivers Could Have Resigned

J.J. Redick

The Clippers are supposed to be taking a victory lap this season after a summer spent acquiring a new, championship-winning coach and two shooters to spread the floor. They also inked a five-year, $107 million deal for point God Chris Paul. But real estate honcho and Clippers owner Donald Sterling almost ruined the whole thing. Read More »

The 20 Best 3-Point Shooters In The NBA Right Now

Stephen Curry

While Dime has done stories on both the best shooters in the NBA and the players with the deepest range, we’ve never focused solely on the three-pointer. The adoption of the three-point line in 1979 dramatically changed the future of the NBA. Would Adam Morrison have even been considered a top 10 pick had this special skill not served a purpose? (Who honestly knows with MJ?) Read More »

The 10 Most Impactful Roster Changes During The 2013 NBA Offseason

James Harden, Dwight Howard

The NBA season is less than a month away, and training camps are now open around the country. Preseason games will start soon, and media day has come and gone. It lacks the star power that could be on the move next year, but the 2013 offseason did feature several teams attempting to climb their way to the ranks of the elite, while others traded down in hopes of rebuilding and starting anew. The 15 Best Backcourts In The NBA

Deron Williams

The engine and brains of an NBA starting lineup rest with the point guard — the orchestrator — and the complementary role often belongs to the shooting guard. When the two talents fit, an NBA backcourt is a bad place to get caught up against on either end of the floor.

With the season right around the corner, and after dropping knowledge on the 15 best frontcourts in the NBA, let’s take a look at a few backcourts that will rank at the top of the league. Read More »

The Top 20 Shooting Guards In The NBA Right Now

Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant

When I watched the video of Kevin Durant proclaiming James Harden should replace Dwyane Wade in Sports Illustrated‘s top 10 NBA players list, a few things processed through my head, in this order:

1. Sweet! This is exactly what the NBA needs: two of its biggest superstars having beef with each other, especially superstars who play on two of the league’s very best teams. 2. Wait, this is clearly fake, right? I mean, Wade and Durant did that awesome Gatorade commercial together last year, and Durant’s tone of voice doesn’t sound very convincing. This has to be some setup for another commercial or advertisement. 3. Well, even if it isn’t real, I think I agree with Durant. Wade’s getting older and Harden is really growing into a true superstar. Read More »

The 20 Most Hated College Basketball Players Of All Time

Larry Johnson

You might be too young to remember Larry Johnson at UNLV. Hell, you might be too young to remember Larry Johnson at Charlotte. But back in the day, Johnson was not only one of the best players in the nation for one of the best teams in NCAA history, he was also one of the most hated. Read More »

The Top 40 Shooting Guards In Fantasy Basketball

James Harden

While all of America is gearing up for fantasy football, we here at Dime feel that it’s never too early for fantasy basketball draft preparation. And while most believe in building their fantasy teams around point guards and big men, that doesn’t mean shooting guards can be totally ignored. Unlike the point guards we went over earlier this week, there isn’t much depth at the two, so having a stud there could help put your squad amongst the elite. Read More »
