Puerto Rico Shows Love to J.J. Barea

J.J. Barea Converse Defcon

Love. That’s the only word to describe what happened when J.J. Barea hit the Foot Locker in Puerto Rico’s Plaza Las Americas mall this past weekend.

I’ve attended dozens of NBA player store appearances, and I’ve never seen so much love. Not for Kobe, LeBron, KD, Wade or CP3. This was different. Read More »

Top 5 Pending Unrestricted Free Agents Still In The NBA Playoffs

Tyson Chandler

With no second round games tonight as the teams travel for Game 3, I thought this was as good a time as any to look at the biggest names in the summer’s free agency still playing. If they were to be asked by the media right now about their thoughts, chances are they’d respond like a blue chip prospect being asked about their NBA Draft intentions during the NCAA Tournament – I’m just focused on winning a championship right now. But realistically, the following five players are playing for a lot more than just the name on the front of their jersey; win or lose, their contracts expire after the season. With that, here are the top five pending unrestricted free agents still in the NBA Playoffs. Read More »

Behind The Scenes: Puerto Rico vs. Brazil National Team Scrimmage

Puerto Rico vs. Brazil

It’s been a great day so far up here at Rucker Park. And because of this wonderful invention by the name of Wi-Fi, we’ve been able to keep y’all in the loop throughout all the action. So besides Austin getting up with Leandro Barbosa for a Q&A, there were tons of NBA guys on the court. Puerto Rico had Carlos Arroyo, Jose Juan Barea and Renaldo Balkman, while Brazil had Barbosa, Anderson Varejao as well as Nene and Tiago Splitter on the bench who sat this one out. Check out some of the pictures after the jump. Read More »

DimeTV: Opening Night Highlights From EBC at Rucker Park

When I first got to Rucker on Monday night the park wasn’t quite as packed as it has traditionally been on past opening nights. But by the time the opening night of the 2010 EBC at Rucker Park was finished, the crowd was tremendous and we were all treated to a display of insane athleticism. Read More »

The NBA Playoffs’ All-Undrafted Team

Wesley Matthews

As you may already know, this year’s NBA Draft is slated to have a ton of players in it. In addition to all the seniors that are automatically available, it seems there are more early entry prospects than ever before. So with only 60 names called on Draft night, you can believe that there will be some disappointed ballers. But don’t fret. Right now in the playoffs, there are multiple guys playing significant roles that went undrafted. So without further ado, here is the NBA Playoffs’ All-Undrafted Team. Read More »

What Jason Terry’s Injury Means For The Mavericks

Jason Terry

There’s no hotter team in the NBA than the Dallas Mavericks. Currently sitting five games behind the Lakers for the top seed in the Western Conference, the Mavs are 20 games over .500 and have won nine in a row. But all that could soon change, as their spark plug Jason Terry is slated to undergo surgery today to repair a fractured orbital bone. What’s his timetable for return? The reports range anywhere from a week to two months. Safe to say this is not good news for Mavs fans. Read More »

Daily Fantasy Diagnosis: 12.1

Jason Kidd

Beast of the Night: Jason Kidd found his shot last night and went off for 22 points, 5 treys, 6 boards, 11 dimes, 4 steals and 3 blocks. He shot 50 percent (8-16) from the field, 50 percent (1-2) from the line and turned the ball over twice. This was his best offensive output of the season so far and serves as a reminder of what the veteran is capable of, though not on a nightly basis. Read More »

Top 5 Best Backup Point Guards In The NBA

Allen Iverson

While it seems many people could care less that the Heat signed Carlos Arroyo yesterday to be their backup point guard, the deal only goes to signify to me once again that the role of the backup point guard is perhaps one of the most important in the League. Guys like Travis Best, Greg Anthony, Jacque Vaughn, Lindsey Hunter and Anthony Johnson have made a career out of it, and the best teams in the NBA take note. So with that in mind, here are the Top 5 best backup points this season: Read More »

Mark Cuban Hasn’t Spoken To The “Aussie Shaq”

Nathan Jawai

It must be hard to be in the NBA when nobody wants you. Like Quentin Richardson this summer, or Jamaal Tinsley all last year when the Pacers emptied his locker and told him to stay away, sometimes you just don’t fit into a team’s plans. That appears to be the situation surrounding current Maverick Nathan Jawai, and I don’t know why. Read More »
