Paul Pierce Leads Boston Back From The Dead; Carmelo Anthony Erupts In Disney World

Paul Pierce

Boston had every right to lose this game. They didn’t get into Atlanta until 4 a.m., and they fell behind big in the first half. By the second quarter, the Hawks’ announcers were asking, “Lets blow ‘em outta the building. Whadda ya say?” Lou Williams (28 points) came out and dropped 11 in the game’s first four minutes while hitting three triples, and Atlanta had the Celtics’ offense in a vice grip. Read More »

The Lakers Get Pushed To A Breaking Point; The Hawks Almost Get Embarrassed

Kenneth Faried

A great recipe for disaster – at least if you’re the Lakers – is playing in Denver on the second night of a back-to-back. Old legs. The high altitude. The penchant of the Nuggets to play fast and frenetic. It almost never works out for L.A., and last night, not even 40 from Kobe Bryant was enough. Read More »

Video: Tim Duncan Slams On The Face Of Josh McRoberts

Tim Duncan

Since the All-Star Break, Tim Duncan is averaging 16.9 points and 9.5 rebounds on 51 percent shooting. Since the break, San Antonio has gone 20-6. But no one is really all that shocked to see the Old Reliables making a push in the standings, and the only people who really believed Duncan to be done were the haters. It’s dunks like this one over Josh McRoberts that have people surprised. Read More »

Video: Josh McRoberts Looks Like A Harlem Globetrotter

Josh McRoberts

Behind the back. 360. Turnaround shovel shot from almost the three-point line? Yeah, I could see someone doing that at a Harlem Globetrotter event. But here’s Josh McRoberts doing it in an NBA game. I want to give him credit for it, but it sort of feels like he screwed up, got himself in a bad spot and then just got lucky in the end. But maybe that’s the point? Read More »

Chicago Locks Down Derrick Rose; Ray Allen Calls Out David West

Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose (photo. adidas)

Well Derrick Rose had a nice day. He got paid and became a made man in Chicago if he wasn’t already one. Then in the capper, he methodically picked apart everyone’s Eastern Conference sleeper, Indiana, in Chicago’s 93-85 win. We felt like it was April and we were back in the first round of the playoffs again. Rose (12 points, nine assists) was destroying Darren Collison (1-for-7, six points), Psycho T was doing his bowling ball routine (24 points, 13 rebounds) and the Bulls’ defense was more suffocating than an only child’s mother, holding Indiana to 36 percent from the field.
