Exclusive Photos Of Kansas State’s New Court Design

Bramlage Coliseum

With no NBA season on the horizon, college basketball is going to be the best show around this fall. (Although my boys McCarthy and Heaslip would argue that it always has been.) And for anyone that’s ever been to a game at Kansas State’s Bramlage Coliseum – also known as the “Octagon of Doom” – you know the atmosphere is like none other. I mean, they do play in Manhattan after all. Anyways, when word broke that the floor – originally purchased and installed in 2004 – had received a new court design to incorporate the athletics department’s new branding effort, we thought y’all might like to see it. NBA Draft: The Best Player To Go Undrafted Will Be Kansas State’s Jacob Pullen

Jacob Pullen

There’s a reason that basketball has been thriving again in Manhattan, Kansas. And it’s less about Bob Huggins, Michael Beasley and Bill Walker’s respectively quick residencies; it has to do with Coach Frank Martin and his beast of a senior guard, Jacob Pullen. Read More »

Michael Beasley Says NBA, Not NFL, Is No Fun League

Michael Beasley (photo. Chad Griffith)

Michael Beasley has it all. You could go an entire lifetime of basketball action and never come across a 6-9 forward with as diverse an array of athleticism, skills and versatility. There just aren’t many guys who can give you 20 and 10 one night and then hit five threes the next. Beasley’s problem is he is just as likely to give you two points and three rebounds like he did in the Miami Heat’s season ending loss to the Boston Celtics. Read More »

Kentucky’s John Calipari Can Pull Off Amazing Recruiting Hat Trick

Kentucky

It’s safe to say that in one year, John Calipari has turned Kentucky into NBA U. With five players slated to go in the first 20 picks of this year’s NBA Draft, and commitments last week from top-five players in the Class of 2010 (Brandon Knight) and Class of 2011 (Michael Gilchrist) – not to mention All-American senior Doron Lamb – you’d think Coach Cal would take a day off. Meet The No. 1 Pick In The 2013 NBA Draft

Photo. Thad Allton / The Topeka Capital-Journal

At one time in his life, LeBron James was just simply LeBron James. Back when he was growing up in Akron, Ohio playing basketball at the local community center, without Sports Illustrated knocking on his front door and asking to put him on their cover, Bron was just a kid who loved to play basketball and happened to be pretty good at it. But the world we live in today is always looking for the Next Big Thing and sometimes they’re harder to find than others. Don’t worry though, I was able to find him in Wichita, Kansas and his name is Perry Ellis. Read More »
