Dwyane Wade dunk Kendrick Perkins

As you watch this over and over and over again today, know that it’s not the first time something like this has happened to Kendrick Perkins.

Let us take you back to what Dwyane Wade did to him last March: Read More »

Derrick Rose Is Unstoppable; Blake Griffin Is Unbelievable

Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose said he was gonna go crazy against Washington last night, and dude did go a little nuts. Not only did he pick up a technical, but he was as aggressive as we’ve seen him all year in the first half, weaving into the lane and throwing up more of those high-arching floaters he’s grown fond of. John Wall gave him some run during the first half of Chicago’s 10-point win, but there’s still one glaring difference between the two: John Wall makes tough shots. Derrick Rose makes tough shots look easy. Read More »

Blake Griffin Throws Down One Of The Best Dunks In NBA History

Blake Griffin

I thought we weren’t topping LeBron‘s dunk… at least for a while. It took us 24 hours. Blake Griffin just nearly took off Kendrick Perkins‘ head. Read More »

Derek Fisher Beats Dallas; Boston Loses Their 5th Game In A Row

Derek Fisher

Well that was ugly. On a night where the big stories were supposed to be Lamar Odom‘s return to Staples and Kobe‘s shot at a fifth-consecutive 40-point game, neither side could hit a shot and couldn’t get out of each other’s way. So it came down to a guy who’s shooting 33 percent and averaging 4.3 points a night. Derek Fisher (13 points) hit the game-winning three with three seconds left, and the Lakers won one of the ugliest games we’ve seen in a long time when Vince Carter‘s last-ditch look was off. Steve Nash Is All Alone In Phoenix; Utah Is For Real

Tim Duncan (photo. adidas)

Okay, so he does have Marcin Gortat (24 points, 15 rebounds). But other than that, Steve Nash is the last man standing in Phoenix. Last year, it looked like their deep trips into the postseason were over. Now, the fast-breaking, free-wheeling style is a thing of the past as well. We felt like we were watching ghosts in San Antonio yesterday. San Antonio beat Phoenix 102-91 in a game that would’ve mattered back in 2006. Now, it almost felt like Gregg Popovich wasn’t even taking it seriously. San Antonio controlled throughout, and even when the Suns made their run, he didn’t flinch. The minute he brought back in the starters for the finish, the Spurs regained control and shut down Nash and the Suns. Read More »

10 NBA Players Who Improved Their Bodies Over The Offseason

Josh Smith

At the start of every NBA season, all we hear about for weeks is “X player gained x amount of muscle,” or “X player lost x pounds, so look for him to break out!” It gets a little nauseating after awhile and it isn’t until players step foot on the hardwood that you can really notice any change. John Hollinger tried to save us all some time by tweeting: “I’ll save everyone else the trouble for their training camp reports: Every NBA player is in the best shape of his life. Except Eddy Curry.” Read More »

Not Everyone Is Happy To See Chris Paul As A Clipper; Kevin Garnett Calls Out David Stern… Again

Chris Paul

These are strange times in the NBA. Strange times, indeed. We want to believe this whole fiasco revolving around the Chris Paul-to-the-L.A. Clippers trade is over. But we know, and y’all know, it isn’t. That’s what happens when a league is forced to trade one of its most visible and valuable assets. That’s what happens when there are accusations someone screwed around with the amnesty waiver process to make sure Chauncey Billups ended up a Clipper. That’s what happens when reporters ask a GM from Houston who thought he had a trade done last week, to comment on what exactly happened and the man backs off saying he isn’t allowed to speak on it. The Single Biggest Myth About The NBA Draft Age Rule

Amar'e Stoudemire

So they think they need a committee to study this stuff huh? It shouldn’t take a genius or even a formulation of a number of basketball minds to figure this one out, but as Yahoo! Sports is reporting, the NBA and the Player’s Association are discussing whether to form a committee to study the age minimum for the NBA draft with “the possibility that no immediate changes to the ‘one-and-done’ rule will come in the finalization of the new collective bargaining agreement.”

Good. Maybe they’ll finally discover what I’ve been saying all along. Read More »

Kendrick Perkins Shows You His Offseason Workout

Kendrick Perkins wasn’t himself towards the end of last season, and he promised everyone that it’ll be different next year. The goal is to shed 20 pounds after the big man ballooned up to about 285. Judging off this video, Perkins looks really good, like ready to smash some heads. He’s definitely leaner around the waist, and seems to be lighter on his feet. OKC’s defense tailed off a bit last season from the year before, but if Perkins can regain his health and conditioning, we could be looking at the start of a juggernaut. If the video isn’t working, go here.
