Nene Says NBA Referees Allow Kevin Durant To Carry The Ball

The Wizards finally ended the Kevin Durant onslaught on Saturday night, terminating the Thunder’s 10-game winning streak and forcing KD into an uncharacteristic (and unheard of in 2014) 8-for-21 night shooting the ball. After the game, Wizards center Nene spoke glowingly of Durant before taking a dig at him. He also totally throws Kendrick Perkins under the bus, but that’s par for the course these days. Read More »

The 25 Biggest Fails Of The NBA Season

Pierre the Pelican

Pierre the Pelican (Derick E. Hingle/USA TODAY Sports)

Monster dunks. Nothing-but-net threes. Alley-oops. All are wonderful moments we’ve witnessed so far this season. There have been plenty of good moments: KD‘s recent scoring outburst, ‘Melo‘s record-breaking game, and Greg Oden‘s return… none of which you’ll see on this list. This is dedicated to the bad and the ugly, the plays that left you thinking WTF was that, what were they thinking? This season has been one of the most competitive and fun seasons to watch in recent memory, but it’s only right we have some fun at the halfway point. Read More »

Video: Chris Bosh Leaves Kendrick Perkins In The Dust

Chris Bosh

The Kevin DurantLeBron James matchup may headline Wednesday night in the NBA, but Heat center Chris Bosh got viewers’ attention early in the first quarter. After catching the pass in the corner from ‘Bron, Bosh pumped faked a three-point attempt and blew by the Thunder’s Kendrick Perkins on the baseline to finish with a mean one-handed slam. Bucks rookie Giannis Antetokounmpo might be well known for that assonance-heavy last name, or even for the fact he’s still growing since being drafted No. 15 overall by the Bucks. But that has started to shift after games like the one Giannis had against OKC on Saturday night. Read More »

5 NBA Playoff Series We Know You Want To See

Paul George, LeBron James

Paul George, LeBron James (Steve Mitchell/USA TODAY Sports)

It’s never too early to begin thinking about the playoffs.

Sure, the regular season has been great so far, if you’re ignoring that one of the conferences currently has three teams with a winning record, but that doesn’t mean we can’t already begin thinking about the potential the playoffs have in store for us. A lot can happen in those seven games. It can make or break a franchise, sending one into the vaults of the elite and the other into a downward spiral that may result in the breakup of the team. It can also make or break a player, essentially putting their entire legacy on the line if that player’s influence on the team is that great. Read More »

Video: Kevin Durant With Two Delicious Dimes In Win Over Celtics

Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant (Mark D. Smith/USA TODAY Sports)

Perhaps you’ve been too distracted by Kevin Durant‘s silky jumper, but he’s improved other areas of his game. His defense is getting better each year, and he’s a lot stronger on the block than he was early on — when he would routinely get muscled into the restricted area by opposing fours. He’s also improved his passing ability, increasing his assist averages over the last four years, while cutting down on his turnovers, which have dropped in each of his last three seasons. Two dimes during Sunday night’s win against the visiting Celtics highlight his improving court vision and creativity. Read More »

Kendrick Perkins Is a Bit Peeved His Thunder Teammates Didn’t Invite Him To Chill

Kendrick Perkins

Kendrick Perkins (Mark D. Smith/USA TODAY Sports)

Thunder center Kendrick Perkins has become something of a running joke among NBA heads on Twitter and elsewhere. His mean mugging, the stunted offensive game, the liquid way the Thunder play when Perk isn’t on the floor and the minuscule ROI for that $10 million a year (not to mention OKC’s reluctance to amnesty him pre-James Harden trade), all add up to a lot of abuse from fans and analysts alike. But man, it was cold the way the Thunder recently chilled together and didn’t include Perk. Read More »

Dwyane Wade’s 20 Best Dunks In The NBA

Dwyane Wade

Dwyane Wade (Gary A. Vasquez/USA TODAY Sports)

Once in awhile, we’re treated to watching Dwyane Wade unleash his athleticism all over the heads of multiple defenders, just as a reminder to know that he’s still capable of doing so. The poster dunks are less frequent, partly because of age and the fact that he doesn’t get the ball nearly as much as he did pre-LeBron, but they’re still harrowing to watch because of just how impressive Wade makes it look. Kendrick Perkins Spots Joakim Noah In OKC Locker Room, Says: “Get Your Ass Up Outta Here”

(Mark D. Smith/USA TODAY Sports)

(Mark D. Smith/USA TODAY Sports)

Increasingly, older fans have maligned the chummy relationship between NBA players on opposite teams, especially if those teams are rivals of any sort. That’s why many find the overt antagonism between teams like the Heat and Pacers so refreshing. After tonight’s OKC win over Chicago, a brief showdown between Joakim Noah and Kendrick Perkins in the Thunder locker-room put the buddy-buddy contemporary NBA ethos to the test. Read More »

10 Of The Worst Players In The NBA This Season

Jan Vesely

Jan Vesely (Geoff Burke/USA TODAY Sports)

The athletes that play in the NBA are genetic freaks. Nothing against football players or swimmers but when it comes to hitting the genetic lottery, the NBA is full of them. Tall, freakishly long-limbed, endowed with incredible physiques and hand-eye coordination and abnormally high amounts of fast-twitch muscle fibers… it just doesn’t get any freakier than the NBA.
