Kris Humphries Selling Kim Kardashian Engagement Ring

Kris Humphries

Kris Humphries

After enduring the 72-day marriage between Boston Celtics power forward Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian, the divorce lasted a lot longer than the whirlwind romance and wedding ceremony catalogued extensively by E! television cameras. Humphries’ play suffered as a result, and he became the one of the most hated players in the NBA. Now he’s auctioning off her — reportedly overvalued at the time of the show — engagement ring at Christie’s in New York next month. Buy a piece of reality folklore if you’ve got the dough. Kris Humphries Takes A Shot At Kanye West; Andray Blatche Gone In Washington

Kanye West

We’ve seen a few rapper vs. NBA player beefs. J.R. Smith and Joe Budden had themselves a little girl fight over Twitter, and there were recent rumors suggesting Lil Wayne and James Harden were fighting over Trina. But for the most part, the two sides have lived in harmony. Thankfully, the whole Kanye West/Kris Humphries/Kim Kardashian love triangle didn’t pop open and burst because that one actually had the potential to do some damage. Kanye certainly tried to – claiming on Twitter that he had been with Kim K while Humphries was married to her – but when has Kanye ever been anything other than a completely classless fool? Kanye West Disses Kris Humphries In His New Song

Kanye West

A new Kanye West track called “Theraflu” dropped last night, and even as Kris Humphries was rumbling to 21 points and 11 rebounds with New Jersey, everyone on Twitter was busy having a laugh at his expense. Kanye basically admitted he was in love with Kim Kardashian, and that while her relationship with the NBA player kept her away from him, Kanye said he could have Jay-Z drop him from the Nets: Read More »

Pittsburgh Gets Thumped In An Upset; The Story Behind Karl Malone & His Psychic Powers

Ashton Gibbs

We’ve been waiting on an upset. Naturally this early in the season, you don’t expect it. Everyone is playing cupcakes, and conference schedules haven’t started yet. But where are the close games? Outside of a few, the majority so far have been snoozers. But last night, Pittsburgh got beat up from start to finish, in their own home… by freakin’ Long Beach State, 86-76. Miraculously, this was just the second time any non-Big East team had ever won in that building, and the 49ers didn’t just win. They dominated from the tip. Pitt was never closer than six throughout the whole second half despite some good games from Ashton Gibbs (20 points) and Nasir Robinson (19 points). Pitt did what they could to stay close, but check out the box score. Those Long Beach St. shooting percentages are video game-like. Read More »

Shaq’s New Book Explains His Beef With Kobe; Derrick Williams Says He Should’ve Been The No. 1 Pick

Shaquille O'Neal

And you thought the Shaq vs. Kobe beef was over? It’ll never end. This will go on longer than anything, linger longer than Brett Favre, and it’ll probably still have people talking 10 years down the road. All was quiet on the front for a while, but O’Neal has a new autobiography dropping on Nov. 15 – it’s called Shaq Uncut: My Story and it’s co-written with Jackie MacMullan – and the book gives some more inside info on O’Neal’s view of the feud between two of the most polarizing players in NBA history. According to Shaq, it was Kobe that destroyed the team’s shot at a title in 2004, the year they had Karl Malone and Gary Payton. Read More »

The All-Kim Kardashian Team: 5 NBA Marriages That Hit The Rocks

Allen Iverson

Allen Iverson

We all saw this coming. Maybe we thought it’d last for a year or so, perhaps just long enough to film another TV show, but it at least had a shot for that, right? Nope, this was inevitable. Kris Humphries will just have to do what he does for a living: rebound.

Kim Kardashian filed for divorce today from her new (I guess it’s now ex) hubby Humphries, and HumpDash is officially off. Too bad. We were really starting to like those two. Read More »

Ricky Rubio Has Arrived; The Greatest NBA Tour Ever

Ricky Rubio

Ricky Rubio (photo. Nicky Woo)

Ricky Rubio has arrived. He’s arrived as much as you can during a lockout, when no one can really talk about him or see him play too often. But it’s being reported that the Spanish prodigy is in Los Angeles right now taking in the sights and testing himself against other NBA players. He’s already balled with Danny Granger, Joakim Noah, Enes Kanter and Omri Casspi. We haven’t heard a reaction, but it must’ve been good enough that Michael Beasley asked him to play in his All-Star Classic game on Friday at Osseo High. We wonder what Rubio’s thinking. Read More »

Can’t Break The Silence

LeBron James

LeBron James

You know what would be amazing? If the player’s union and the owners could meet more than once every month. That’s what it feels like, and it doesn’t appear to be changing any time soon. Some were pushing to get a meeting together this week, preferably Friday, but alas it’s not going to happen. It’ll be September before they sit down at the negotiating table again. Meanwhile, we are all sitting back counting the days down until the normal start of the season. No matter what the situation is, we think they should figure out a way to meet at least once in a while. Is that too much to ask? When you’re studying for a test, a really big one, can you ace it if you’re only paying attention one day a week in class? Or if you only do homework when you feel like it? Unless you’re a genius, you might struggle. Read More »

The Big Punisher

Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant (photo. Rob Hammer)

What do they always say about an NBA playoff series? Never pick against the best player when things are pretty even. We guess that tip works well for playground ball as well. Kevin Durant was the star of stars last night at Trinity University in Washington D.C. for Capital Punishment, scoring 44 points, winning the MVP and hitting the game-winning free throws with 21.5 seconds left as Goodman beat the Drew League 135-134. Some of the Dime crew was in the house and while KD was THE man, John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins killed as well for Goodman. On the other side, James Harden – who was going at KD all night long, the two of them taking advantage of being on opposites sides for once – and Brandon Jennings were the two best. Read More »
