Kyle Korver

During last night’s 110-91 Hawks win over the Pacers, their 14th consecutive victory, Kyle Korver did something he hasn’t done in an NBA game in two years and has only done 16 times over his 11-plus year career. Kyle Korver, Evan Fournier

The Cavaliers and Bulls were the heavy favorites to run away with the NBA’s Eastern Conference this year, but nearing the halfway point of the 2014-2015 season, it’s the Atlanta Hawks who boast the conference’s best record. Kyle Korver, Evan Turner

The bucket was as big as a bath tub for Hawks sharpshooter Kyle Korver last night during Atlanta’s 109-105 win over the Celtics at Philips Arena. But the C’s were prepared for the onslaught, assigning Evan Turner to mark Korver. Except, as Turner said after the game, he felt the Atlanta three-point ace got an unfair advantage from the refs. Turner even denigrated Korver’s defense by saying, “he has no business being in the game on the defensive end.” Read More »

Team USA Roster, Rotation Might Be Taking Shape (UPDATE)

Team USA

The withdrawals of presumptive Team USA locks Kevin Love and Blake Griffin from the 2014 FIBA World Cup were one thing. Coach Mike Krzyzewski has always preferred to utilize a nominal, athletic power forward in the Carmelo Anthony mold as opposed to more traditional big men alongside a true center, which is why the absences of Paul George and Kevin Durant loom so large. USA Basketball’s best available options to play that crucial role are gone, and the country’s most logical if less optimal replacements – Love and Griffin – never came. Read More »
