Our friends at Li-Ning had a little problem importing their latest breakthrough sneaker, the F2 (which stands for Foam Frame). Shipments of the single-mold shoe were held up by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, delaying their launch in the States. Conspiracy theories abound as to the reason for the F2’s delay in customs. Was it the radical design that caused inspectors to think the product was something more nefarious than shoes? Could it have been pressure from sneaker competitors? Watch and find out.
On August 23, Chinese sneaker brand Li-Ning officially entered into a long term endorsement deal with No. 2 pick Evan Turner, a move that Li-Ning’s Brand Initiative Director for Basketball, Brian Cupps, called “a game-changing moment” for the brand. “Adding a supreme young talent like Evan Turner,” said Cupps, “sends a message to the global basketball community that Li-Ning basketball is committed to being a player on the global stage.”
