Nate Robinson Embarrasses Kris Humphries With a Killer Crossover

With Marco Belinelli playing out of his mind, and the rest of the Bulls desperate for a win, the Nets leaned on an unlikely source late to take Game 6 and tie the series up, 95-92. Andray Blatche had just 10 points and seven boards, but he made them count, scoring the team’s final five points on three (of four) free throws and a wild runner high off the glass. Read More »
The Most Clutch Players In The NBA Playoffs

Picture this. It’s the final two minutes of a close game between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics in this year’s NBA Playoffs. Paul Pierce gets the ball and dribbles to his old reliable spot for an elbow jumper but instead of firing… he passes to Jeff Green in the corner for the shot. Read More »

Deron Williams’ 11 Threes Roast Washington; Damian Lillard Tortures San Antonio

Every night in the NBA is its own minimovie, played out in any number of acts. Wednesday there were 14, and we could have called it, The Closers, for the way Kobe and Kyrie won after ridiculous comebacks in the fourth quarter. Friday would be The Takeover. Read More »
Kevin Durant Is Not Nice In Dropping 52; The Bulls Steal A Win With A Miracle

Kevin Durant was smoking, and then all of a sudden, he wasn’t. In the first nine minutes and change of the fourth quarter, the man who scored 52 points and had nine rebounds in Oklahoma City’s 117-114 OT win over Dallas was about as hot as the Cavs in cryotherapy, missing six straight field goal attempts, turning the ball over and committing an offensive foul. Disrespect Dunk Deathmatch: Anderson Varejao Vs. Blake Griffin
We joke around with the tag “Dunk Deathmatch” here every now and then but on these two dunks from Tuesday night, seriously, Jordan Hill and Marco Belinelli were lucky to escape without an injury. Hill missed out on being hit in the face from Anderson Varejao‘s nasty right-handed dunk in Cleveland, a dunk nasty enough to take away the play of the game title from Kyrie or Kobe’s feats. Kobe Bryant Passes 30,000 Career NBA Points; J.R. Smith Hits A Game-Winning Buzzer-Beater

They said they were going to stop the game in New Orleans once Kobe Bryant hit 30,000 career points. He did that just before the end of the first half, going off the dribble and hitting a running floater over Robin Lopez. But the game never ceased, and Bryant – fittingly, as always – didn’t stop either. He hit three more free throws in the final minute of the half to add to his total. The 30,000-point club also includes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain. How would you rate that five? Read More »
Spain Playing Possum; Dwight Howard May Stay In Orlando

Much of Spain’s talented roster has spent significant time in the NBA. They know mind games when they see them, and more importantly, they know how to play them. Of course, none of them are as affluent in playing possum as Gregg Popovich or Phil Jackson are. But that’s beside the point. They just have to be somewhat believable, and in an event like the Olympics where so much is on the line in so little time, that can make a Boris Diaw-sized difference. The two best teams in the Olympics square off today at 4:30 ET on ESPN2, and while it’s only an exhibition, it feels like so much more. Read More »
