As the NBA lockout lingers on like a bad hangover, more overseas talk continues to infiltrate the media airwaves. Carlos Boozer will pursue signing with a foreign club if the NBA fails to start on time. Boozer noted that his time spent with Team USA changed his life, an experience that has contributed to his decision to play overseas. And you can’t blame the guy. Well, Billy Hunter just dropped the bomb. Let’s hope it doesn’t detonate. The NBPA’s executive director said he assumes the entire season will be canceled this year because the two sides are an insane $800 million apart. Hunter actually somewhat defended David Stern, saying it’s a new age of owners who have come around in the past six or seven years who are trying to change the ways, and are holding the commish’s feet towards the fire. If you’re a player, you can head down to the Y or hit up a local park, and if you’re anywhere that has decent high school or college action, you can find a game. In the summer, everyone’s home from school or everyone’s vacationing or visiting. With yesterday’s decisive 104-86 victory over San Antonio, the Memphis Grizzlies now find themselves on the verge of becoming just the second eight-seed to ever defeat a No. 1 in a seven-game series. Suffice to say, the Grizz – who went 46-36 during the regular season – have shocked the nation while going up 3-1 on the Spurs. And if they can finish this thing out, it would also be the franchise’s first-ever series victory in the playoffs. This is all sans their star small forward, Rudy Gay, whose season ended early due to a shoulder injury.

NBA All-Star Media Day is always interesting. In the few that I’ve been to, I always like to see which players draw the biggest crowds of reporters, who gets the smallest crowds, who seems the happiest to be there, and who wishes he could be anywhere else in the world.
