Down the stretch, we can’t remember the last time we’d seen so many bodies hitting the deck. Miami really should’ve won it during regulation. But LeBron (23 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists) fouled Chauncey Billups on a three, as well as going half n’ half at the line two times in a row at the end of the game (Damn he looked uncomfortable at the end of the game). After the rumors quieted surrounding Amar’e Stoudemire, Miami has decided to check in on another Western Conference power forward. And even though this deal doesn’t appear like it’s going to happen before the deadline, the Heat and Jazz are talking about a trade that would send Carlos Boozer to Miami for the expiring contracts of Udonis Haslem and Quentin Richardson. The time has come, and the Wizards are finally ready to blow up the squad – that at least on paper – looked like the fourth best team in the Eastern Conference before the season. After finding out that the League granted them some cap relief (almost $4 million) after losing Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton to suspension for the rest of the season, they’re going to try and move their $74 million payroll below the cap threshold of $69.9 million. Desperately needing depth at the point guard position, the Washington Wizards (2-6) have signed Earl Boykins to a non guaranteed contact. The Wizards swag party has been interrupted by injuries to their backcourt, losing Mike James, Javaris Crittenton, Mike Miller and Randy Foye for extended periods of time.

The 5’5 Earl Boykins averaged 9.4 points and 3.4 assists over his 10 year career. The Washington Wizards will be the 9th NBA franchise Boykins has played with.

With most of their guys back healthy from the flu and various other injuries, the Cavs smashed the Mavs by 30 last night at the University of Pittsburgh gym. (Since when do Cleveland teams get love in Pittsburgh?) Mo Williams had 16 points and 11 assists, LeBron put up 12 points on 3-of-13 shooting and seven dimes, and Big Z scored 16 off the bench … Dallas was the team playing short-handed, as Dirk, J-Kidd and Jason Terry were given the night off, and Josh Howard and Shawn Marion are still banged up.
