People Say Stupid Things

lebron-james-browns

I came across this story this morning and just had to laugh out loud. Now, I’ve been as much in awe of LeBron James and his entire body of work this season (the stats, the commitment to defense, the leadership, the record at home, the MVP award, the crazy trick shots and game-winners, etc.), but some people just take it to a whole ‘nother level when they get caught up in the LeBron hype.

This week’s example would be ‘Bron’s high school football defensive coordinator, Mark Murphy, who claims that not only could LeBron have gone straight to the NFL out of high school, but he also ranks LeBron among football’s best all-time receivers! Read More »

Pau Gasol is Ready for Kenyon Martin

pau gasol 2

While I don’t think Pau Gasol is in danger of ending up on this list any time soon, I do think he’s probably more of a gamer and a little bit tougher than most people would expect. And he doesn’t seem the least bit worried about dealing with Kenyon Martin and his tactics in the Western Conference Finals.

The media was ready with Kenyon questions for Pau after yesterday’s Game 7 victory. From the L.A. Times: Read More »

Talk Smack: Nuggets vs. Mavs Game 5

nuggetsvsmavs

The Mavs needed a Terminator-like effort from Dirk Nowitzki to stave off elimination in Game 4 – the rest of his teammates need to step up because he can’t win this series by himself. And the Nuggets are kicking themselves for giving Dallas life and know they need to close things out before the Mavs start to think they can come back and win this thing.

Talk about Game 5 here as it happens …

Is Dwight Right?

Dwight was obviously frustrated with the way his squad fell apart in the second half against the Celtics last night, leading to this press conference when he put blame on the coaching staff. This is now at least the second time Dwight has called out Stan Van Gundy in public in the last few weeks. Is this the kind of thing that Dwight should be doing behind closed doors? And what does this mean for SVG’s future with Orlando?

The Big Baby Apology

Glen Davis

You already know my thoughts on this. Even though it’s ridiculous, you knew the inevitable mandated Glen Davis apology was coming.

People Are the Worst

They really are. For example, take this guy in Orlando who is the father of the kid that Big Baby bumped after knocking down that game-winner on Sunday night. The dad has A) written to the League office demanding an apology from Davis and B) claims that Glen Davis acted like a “raging animal with no regard for fans’ personal safety.” Hey dude, that’s why you drop $1,000 for front row seats – so that you can be in the middle of the action. Take little Timmy up to a luxury box if you don’t want him to be in danger of coming into contact with any of the players.

See the video below – other than his kid being sad because the Magic lost, is there any way this guy has legitimate gripe? And does it really warrant writing a letter to the League and calling Big Baby names?

Talk Smack: Nuggets vs. Mavs Game 4

nuggetsvsmavs

After Melo’s jumper to wrap up Game 3 for the Nuggets, a Denver sweep seems predestined. The Dallas faithful still believe in Dirk, J-Kidd and Co. though. Talk about Game 4 here with the Dime Crew as it happens …
