There’s a famous Michael Jordan commercial where MJ skips out of the halftime speech to run across Chicago, get dressed in his wingtips, and transforms into a CEO. [UPDATE: ESPN is reporting that a deal has been reached. Marc Stein is saying that it's a three-team deal with Rudy Gay and Hamed Haddadi going to the Raptors, the Grizzlies get Ed Davis, Tayshaun Prince, Austin Daye and a 2nd Round pick, and the Pistons get Jose Calderon.]
The Rudy Gay trade saga now seems to be dragging on about as long as the whole excruciating Dwight Howard epic from last summer, doesn’t it? Now, it would seem, that saga may actually be close to ending.

Well this just seems stupid. The Boston Celtics A) need to get younger and more athletic and B) need to use this upcoming free agency period to start the move into the future past the Paul Pierce/KG/Ray Allen Era. The last guy they should be looking to move is Rajon Rondo. Yet here we are. ESPN’s Chris Broussard is reporting that sources are telling him that Rondo could be on the block.

With a little over 30 minutes before the NBA Trade Deadline, there are still rumors surfacing for the first time. According to Yahoo! Sources say that the Jazz and Heat might need a third team to complete a deal, and the Wizards (who are about $830,000 over the luxury tax threshold right now) could use the cap relief. Read More »
So much for the Knicks not being able to land Tracy McGrady’s expiring contract, according to ESPN.com’s Marc Stein, the Rockets, Kings and Knicks have agreed to terms that will expand the Houston-Sacramento deal into a three-way trade that lands Tracy McGrady and Sergio Rodriguez in New York, Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill, Jared Jeffries and Hilton Armstrong in Houston and Carl Landry, Joey Dorsey and Larry Hughes in Sacramento. Although this isn’t a blockbuster by any means, as I wrote earlier today, the Bucks are not done dealing. According to ESPN.com’s Chad Ford, the Bucks are in serious talks with the Sixers surrounding a deal that would send Jodie Meeks, Francisco Elson and a second-round pick to the Sixers for Primoz Brezec and Royal Ivey. My initial reaction: Who cares? Read More »
While yesterday’s Nate Robinson to Boston scenario seemed like it was going to be straight up for Eddie House and a second round pick, ESPN.com’s Chris Sheridan is reporting that the Knicks have reached a tentative agreement on a deal that would send Robinson and a second player to the Celtics for House, J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker. The identity of the second New York player was not immediately clear. Read More »
