Gilbert Arenas Is Alive; LaMarcus Aldridge Beats Dallas At The Buzzer

Gilbert Arenas

He didn’t win them the game. He didn’t bang a big shot. It only matters that he actually MADE shots. As Memphis lit the Heat on fire in Miami, Gilbert Arenas came off the bench to hit four triples for 12 points, shooting as if he’d forgotten he lost his legs around the same time he lost his mind. It was a perfect night all the way around for the Grizzlies, who led the entire way and blew out Miami by 15, and are nearing the end of a run of seven games in nine days (six against current playoff teams). They’re 4-2 so far. Read More »

Kanye West Disses Kris Humphries In His New Song

Kanye West

A new Kanye West track called “Theraflu” dropped last night, and even as Kris Humphries was rumbling to 21 points and 11 rebounds with New Jersey, everyone on Twitter was busy having a laugh at his expense. Kanye basically admitted he was in love with Kim Kardashian, and that while her relationship with the NBA player kept her away from him, Kanye said he could have Jay-Z drop him from the Nets: Read More »

Video: March’s Top 10 NBA Plays

Danilo Gallinari

They could’ve just re-titled this as the best game winners from March and it would’ve worked as well. From Dwyane Wade to Derrick Rose, some of the best shots this season came last month. Read More »

The Pacers Send A Message To The East; Carmelo Anthony On The Comeback

Danny Granger

Are they for real? We guess we could’ve said that about either one of the teams taking the floor in Indiana last night. The Pacers beheaded the Heat by 15, and Miami has now lost two in a row by double figures, and are just 8-6 since the All-Star break. Title contenders? They need to get their heads out of the sand first. Then on the other side, the Pacers made a statement: Don’t overlook us. They almost had Miami calling for the mercy rule on the boards, destroying them 49-33. Read More »

Deron Williams Hands Out A Beastly Dunk On Tristan Thompson’s Forehead

Deron Williams

Someone pissed Deron Williams off last night. As we wrote in Smack, he was animated, aggressive and angry. But for the most part, it was another typical Williams-in-a-Net uniform night: a lot of points with so-so efficiency. As for this dunk, it was anything but typical. Williams did this to Roy Hibbert earlier this year. Now he gets Tristan Thompson. Cross another name off the list. Read More »

The Bulls Annihilate An East Contender; Gilbert Arenas Finally Finds A Team

Joakim Noah

Actually, we’re not even sure we should call Orlando a contender after last night. They fell apart and surrendered to Carlos Boozer and the Bulls, 85-59. At home. With Derrick Rose in street clothes. Boozer had 24 and 13 while John Lucas III continued to play out of his mind, burning Orlando in the first quarter and finishing with 20 points in 21 minutes, and helping steer Tom Thibodeau to 100 career coaching wins. Thibs is also the fastest coach in NBA history to reach that milestone … Read More »

The Knicks Find Another Phenom; Duke & Missouri KO’D In Huge March Madness Upsets

Tony Parker

Between the time that we’re writing this and the time you’re going to read it, the domain name Woodsanity.com will probably be off the market. The Knicks are 2-0 under interim head coach Mike Woodson, which means according to the rules of Linsanity, he should immediately be named NBA Coach of the Year and the MSG team shop should’ve started mass-producing bald wigs and fake Woodson beards yesterday. Woodsanity, baby! Try to catch up … Read More »

The Top 5 Winners & Losers From The NBA’s 2012 Trade Deadline

Monta Ellis

The 3 p.m., March 15 trade deadline has come and gone as fast as your brackets will be busted by this weekend’s end. Most cats around the league can now breathe easy, knowing they haven’t been dealt and can focus on the remaining part of the schedule. Others, however, must deal with the reality they were shipped out like yesterday’s garbage. Either way, this a time for them to regroup and stop commenting on every rumor that appears on blogs and Twitter. Read More »

John Wall Plays Like A Monster; The First Major Upset Of March Madness Goes Down

Kevin Durant & Russell Westbrook

You can cut the Nuggets some slack if they weren’t really into it last night. They had a major trade during the afternoon – their prized offseason signing gone – and have the front office angling to bring Wilson Chandler back to Denver. So for them to give the best team in the West a game for at least a few quarters, they’ll probably take it. Eventually, the Thunder lit the spark with a 26-8 run between the end of the first half and the middle of the third, capping it with a huge Kevin Durant (24 points) dunk, another slam from James Harden (18 points) and a back-breaking triple from Russell Westbrook (23 points). Breaking News: Blazers Trade Gerald Wallace To New Jersey

Gerald Wallace

We pushed for the Blazers to make a move in Smack, and it appears they’ve done something to clean up the mess of a season they’ve created. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports Portland is sending Gerald Wallace to New Jersey for Mehmet Okur, Shawne Williams and a protected 2012 first-round pick. Read More »
