Nick Young Didn’t Waste Any Time To Start Enjoying His Offseason

Nick Young

The Los Angeles Lakers finished with the second worst record in the Western Conference, and Nick Young was a large reason they escaped without the worst record when he dropped a season-high 41 points against the Conference-worst Jazz on Monday night. Then the self-proclaimed Swaggy P kicked off his offseason hard right after the Lakers beat the Spurs Wednesday night. Read More »

The Lakers were not able to invite the Grizzlies to the Players Haters Ball on Sunday night. Nick Young and the Lakers had a chance to put another wrench in a Western Conference playoff picture with Memphis battling Phoenix for the final spot in the West (Dallas has clinched), but the Grizzlies got a 102-90 win in the Lakers’ last game in Staples this season. Still, at least Young had a 360-degree reverse layup on Marc Gasol, which added some swag during a largely disappointing season. Read More »

The Lakers are done, mathematically eliminated from a possible playoff berth a while back, and now just running out the season before probably firing coach Mike D’Antoni. But the beaten up Lakers faced off against the Suns on Sunday, one of a group of five teams looking to fit in four open playoff spots in the West. So of course Nick Young reveled in his team’s ability to put a dent in Phoenix’s playoff chances with their 115-99 win at the Staples Center. Read More »

Nick Young Mistakenly Celebrates Missed 3-Pointer

Nick Young

The Knicks were dreadful on Tuesday night at the Staples Center when they took on a Lakers team that’s currently in last place in the Pacific Division. LA clobbered the Knicks by 31 in a rout and Nick Young was fantastic from beyond the three-point line, knocking down five of his six attempts. But that lone three-point attempt he did miss, he thought he made, and the TNT guys had some chuckles after his mini celebration before realizing his mistake. Read More »

Breaking rank from the editorial “we” for a moment, yesterday was my birthday, but it was also Steve Nash‘s birthday. The 40-year-old Nash showed off some vintage moves while helping lead the still-undermanned Lakers to a 112-98 road victory at Well Fargo Center. No only that, but Nash absolutely abused Evan Turner with a behind-the-back crossover for the layup. Read More »

For only a half season’s worth of basketball, the NBA’s top athletes have put together a strong resume and large volume of impressive slams, so much so that we had to list 100 of them. There weren’t any that had to be forced on, either, to complete the list. No, there were plenty of worthy candidates to make this list go beyond the threshold of 100. Read More »

Pierre the Pelican

Monster dunks. Nothing-but-net threes. Alley-oops. All are wonderful moments we’ve witnessed so far this season. There have been plenty of good moments: KD‘s recent scoring outburst, ‘Melo‘s record-breaking game, and Greg Oden‘s return… none of which you’ll see on this list. This is dedicated to the bad and the ugly, the plays that left you thinking WTF was that, what were they thinking? This season has been one of the most competitive and fun seasons to watch in recent memory, but it’s only right we have some fun at the halfway point. Read More »
