Oklahoma State sophomore and National Player of the Year candidate Marcus Smart was having his usual dominating game tonight, but he couldn’t hit an outside shot against South Florida. Except, right before halftime, the 6-4 point guard built like brick, lofted a 65-foot prayer that ripped the twine. Read More »

The special freshman this season in men’s college basketball are joined by a super sophomore in Oklahoma State point guard Marcus Smart. Smart probably would have gone No. 1 in the 2013 Draft had he come out but elected to stay in school. Cowboys fans are pretty happy about that after he dropped 39 points on the Memphis Tigers last night including a nasty alley-oop. Read More »
Yeah, it feels like we’ve said this before — actually, we have — but Marcus Smart‘s summer mixtape from Ballislife seems to only back us up. He looks like the best player in college basketball, a wrecking ball point guard that can score in the paint, from outside, and from above the rim. Read More »
If you were to describe the upcoming college basketball season with one name, it’d probably be Wiggins, as in Kansas freshman forward Andrew Wiggins. Just about anywhere you look you will see the name of the teenage phenom that has general managers and basketball pundits salivating at what could be.

We’re only a few days away from one of the best weekends in college basketball. With Louisville, Michigan, Wichita State and Syracuse set to go to battle this weekend, expect to hear a whole lot of Cinderella, zone defense and Trey Burke talk. It’s inevitable. In Houston’s wild 122-119 comeback win over the Thunder, Harden not only had a defining “So I’m not a max player, huh?” game, he looked like the best player on the floor. Read More »
I’m not sure what’s more unbelievable: This “OMG” alley-oop in the closing minutes of a close game with the No. 2 team in the nation, or the fact that Markel Brown was ejected for it. Here’s a new one-liner: That dunk was so violent, the refs threw him out. That’s not entirely true, but it does make for great theater. The real story is Brown received a T for taunting, stupid enough by itself but even more dumb considering the same thing happened to him earlier in the game (on another one of his facials). The refs had to throw him out. Oklahoma State won anyways, and we got these two incredible highlights out of it, so I guess it was all worth it. Hit the jump for two of the nastiest college jams you’ll see this season. Read More »
