We’ve been following Pepperdine guard Keion Bell for a minute. Two years ago at Pepperdine’s Blue & Orange Madness, Bell won the slam dunk contest for jumping over three people. Last year he decided to jump over five. So what was the 6-3 junior going to do this year? How about jump over SEVEN people. Yeah.
If you remember one name this season in college basketball, it should be Keion Bell. We first introduced you to the Pepperdine sophomore this summer after he won the Slam Dunk Contest at the Kobe Basketball Academy. This past Friday at Pepperdine’s Blue & Orange Madness, Bell won the slam dunk contest for the second year in a row. Last year when he won the event, he jumped over three people, but this year he decided to jump over five.
Even after a breakout debut season at Pepperdine, most people don’t know about 6-3 Keion Bell. But with 11 clips on YouTube that include a dunk over a 7-footer and a poster on DeMar Derozan, he’ll soon become a household name. This summer Keion and his 41-inch vertical found his way to the Kobe Basketball Academy where he won the Camp Slam Dunk Contest judged by Kobe, Ice Cube and Josh Powell.
