By now we all know the story behind Joel Embiid‘s roller-coaster entry into the NBA. He was the ostensible No. 1 pick in an acclaimed 2014 Draft despite sitting out Conference play and the NCAA Tournament with a wonky back. Then he suffered a stress fracture in his right foot and fell from his pre-draft perch as the largely unanimous No. 1 pick. According to Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune a three-team trade will be completed on Saturday sending Kevin Love to Cleveland in exchange for the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, Andrew Wiggins, the No. 1 pick in the 2013 Draft, Anthony Bennett, and Philadelphia’s Thaddeus Young. Philadelphia will receive Miami’s 2015 first-round pick Cleveland owns as well as Minnesota’s expiring contracts of Luc Mbah a Moute and Alexey Shved. Read More »

Anytime you have winners you’re bound to have some people that lose. This year’s summer is no exception: there were plenty of teams and players who “lost” this past offseason. After counting down this summer’s “winners,” it’s only right that we give an equal share of the limelight to those whose situation was less fortunate than their NBA counterparts. In two days, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves will be able to make the Kevin Love deal official. As part of the package going to the ‘Wolves, it was reported that Anthony Bennett would be traded to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Thaddeus Young. However, reports are now suggesting he might stay put.

Before Nerlens Noel tore his ACL just 24 games into his freshman season at Kentucky, he was widely considered the favorite to be selected with the number 1 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. Instead, Phoenix took Anthony Bennett, and Noel fell to the New Orleans Pelicans with the No. 6 pick, before he was promptly traded to the Philadelphia 76ers for Jrue Holiday and a future protected first-round pick. He took all of 2013-14 off, and finally returned during summer league play last month. Dime caught up with the 6-10 Noel at Rucker Park for the EBC All-Stars Reebok event on Monday where he talked about his fantastic skinny pants and his return to the hardwood. Read More »
