GIF: K.J. McDaniels Rises For Soaring Chase-Down Block On Steve Blake

K.J. McDaniels

A Philadelphia Sixers rookie leads his classmates in blocked shots. That’s no surprise, but the specific player owning that distinction certainly is to most. Watch Philly’s K.J. McDaniels add to his rookie-high swatting total by rising for a huge chase-down block of Steve Blake in his team’s loss the Portland Trail Blazers last night. Read More »

GIF: Steve Blake Crossover Smokes Evan Turner

Steve Blake, Evan Turner

Perhaps it’s because we used to watch him tear up the ACC for Maryland, but we’re never surprised when Steve Blake shows off skills that belie his neighbor next door exterior. Neither, for that matter, is former teammate Kobe Bryant. Blake showed off his handle and his quickness by abusing Evan Turner on a crossover last night before draining a three-pointer in Portland’s 94-88 win at the Garden. Read More »

Eric Bledsoe Says He Was Tipped Before Game About Nerlens Noel’s Hard Foul

Eric Bledsoe, Nerlens Noel

Last night Nerlens Noel dropped Eric Bledsoe to the hardwood not more than 30 seconds into the Suns-76ers game in Philadelphia. This came after Bledsoe had said his alum, Kentucky, could beat the 0-12 Sixers in a seven-game series. It was an embarrassing proclamation, even if some believe there’s some truth to his belief. Well, it seems Bledsoe knew the hard foul was coming since a 76ers player tipped him off about it before the game began. Read More »

Video: Nerlens Noel, Eric Bledsoe Nearly Come To Blows 30 Seconds Into Game

Nerlens Noel, Eric Bledsoe

Apparently Nerlens Noel didn’t take kindly to Eric Bledsoe insisting that the Kentucky Wildcats could beat the winless Philadelphia 76ers in a seven-game series. Noel took the first opportunity available to send Bledsoe a message in his team’s loss to the Phoenix Suns tonight, committing a hard foul 30 seconds after tip-off that prompted Bledsoe to get in the rookie’s face. Rookie K.J. McDaniels’ Mom On Sixers: “Yes They Are Tanking F**king Over My Son”

K.J. McDaniels

The Philadelphia 76ers are 0-11 to start the season and it’s getting so bad some people think a dominant college program could beat them in a seven-game series (they can’t). Second round pick (No. 32 overall) K.J. McDaniels has been along for Philly’s awful opening ride in his first experience as an NBA player. But things might be getting a whole lot worse for the rook after his mom took to Twitter last night without a filter to lament her son’s lost season. Read More »

Breaking Down A Kentucky Vs. Philadelphia 76ers Seven-Game Series

Nerlens Noel, Karl-Anthony Towns

The Kentucky Wildcats and the Philadelphia 76ers are two basketball programs with completely different goals this season. SMU coach Larry Brown said the Wildcats should go 45-0 this season while 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie would love for his team to go 0-82 and secure the top spot in the NBA Draft Lottery. Kentucky is fighting for a National Championship and the 76ers are in full tank mode. Read More »

Alum Eric Bledsoe Says Kentucky Can “Definitely” Beat The Sixers

Eric Bledsoe

The NBA season isn’t even a month old and we’re already sick of a few ongoing storylines. The biggest one surrounds the laughable notion any college team could beat an NBA franchise. Yes, the Philadelphia 76ers are winless at 0-10, and Kentucky stomped Kansas the other day, but to say Kentucky could actually beat the Sixers is crazy talk. Then again, former Kentucky guard and current Suns guard Eric Bledsoe says they “definitely” could. Read More »

Michael Carter-Williams Starts With A Jam, Then Gets Into Spat With Coach

Michael Carter-Williams

Michael Carter-Williams made his return last night for a Sixers team that had dropped their first seven games of the season. His presence didn’t do much to affect the woeful team from Philly, though, and MCW even got into it with coach Brett Brown after he failed to get back on defense. Read More »

Please Don’t Talk To Michael Carter-Williams “About Tanking”

Michael Carter-Williams

Last season, the Philadelphia 76ers lost 26 games in a row, tying them for the longest losing streak in NBA history. Their rookie point guard and the 2014 NBA Rookie of the Year — after a lone season with Syracuse — Michael Carter-Williams, was catatonic at all the losing as he revealed in the latest missive for the Derek-Jeter player-scribe startup, The Players Tribune. Watch K.J. McDaniels Rise To Spike Greivis Vasquez’s Layup High Into The Stands

Philadelphia 76ers rookie wing K.J. McDaniels blocked four shots in his team’s loss to DeMar DeRozan and the Toronto Raptors yesterday, pushing season-long average to an awesome 1.7 swats per game. And though the Clemson product had already provided multiple candidates for his personal block of the year leading up to Sunday’s contest, we’re pretty confident that none will top his volleyball spike of Greivis Vasquez’s layup attempt. Watch the 6-6 McDaniels come from the weak-side and show off incredible hang-time by aggressively swatting Vasquez’s shot high into the Air Canada Centre stands. Read More »
