NBA Fantasy Team Analysis: The Washington Wizards

John Wall

The Washington Wizards rounds out our rundown of fantasy basketball analysis for each NBA team. The Wizards are led by a talented point guard who supposedly has an improved shot, along with two big men who’ve struggled so far to truly break through in any real way. Though the rest of the roster’s fantasy potential is a bit hazy, one thing is certain: a rookie’s girlfriend is about to take the NBA by storm. Read More »

Top 10 NBA Players Slated To Lose The Most Money Each Paycheck

Kobe Bryant

The first two weeks of the 2011-12 NBA regular season have been cancelled, and things aren’t looking to change for the better anytime soon. And while it’s sometimes hard to feel bad about millionaires losing money, you can definitely sympathize with someone missing out on a paycheck – and not in the Rasheed Wallace CTC kind of way. With that said, Brian Reed of ThePostGame.com put together a list of the 10 players who will lose the most money as the lockout lingers. Read More »

Rashard Lewis: Taking It Back To Seattle

Rashard Lewis

You know those players who over time fail to live up to their deal and by the end of it – speaking of the last year or two – when their trade value spikes and they’re referred to as “So and so’s contract?” Well, that’s sort of where Rashard Lewis is. He’ll be the second-highest paid player in the league next season, and for the last year or so hasn’t looked at all like the guy who once regularly dropped 20 a night in Seattle, or even the three-point specialist during his first run in Orlando. Injuries have played a big part. The situation with the lockout has put added attention onto the contract of a guy who has become the very definition of a one-dimensional player. Lewis is promising next year won’t be like that. He’s working out, showed more explosiveness in the Impact League and even had platelet rich plasma treatment in March. Read More »

10 NBA Players In Need Of A Bounce-Back Season

O.J. Mayo

When O.J. Mayo told Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix there were times last year where he wasn’t sure he even wanted to play basketball anymore, my eyes opened. I’ll admit that Mayo is and always will be one of my favorite players. His ruthlessness in high school hooked me. Three years into his pro career, I never would’ve guessed that someone had stolen his confidence. But it definitely happened.

One thing you realize when speaking to enough players is that it’s more about the situation than it is the player. Sure, there are times when someone loses motivation, and their game falls off. But take away the very best players in the world, and what do you have left? Read More »

Rashard Lewis: I’m Willing To Sacrifice $22 Million For A Deal

Rashard Lewis

If the NBA season was to start on time, there would only be one player that makes more than the $22 million Rashard Lewis is slated for this year: Kobe Bryant. And while Lewis is a two-time NBA All-Star, he doesn’t exactly have the five championship rings and 13 All-Star nods that the Black Mamba does. But when it comes to the lockout, Lewis is a company man. He believes he shouldn’t be punished for the six-year, $118 million contract he signed with Orlando five years ago – and neither do we. That’s why it’s crazy to hear that he is willing to lose it all in order to make sure players get taken care of now and in the future. Read More »

5 Reasons The Wizards Are The NBA’s Model Rebuilding Franchise

John Wall

With the NBA offseason already a reality for half the league, the Washington Wizards will be wrapping up their rebuilding process. After watching their franchise go through some serious tough times, the front office came to the conclusion to abort everything and completely remold the roster. The franchise shipped out its three All-Stars – Antawn Jamison, Caron Butler and Gilbert Arenas – and went head-first into rebuilding mode. The key factor in rebuilding is giving your fans something to look forward to. And with the No. 1 pick in last year’s NBA Draft, they gave Washingtonians just that by acquiring rookie sensation John Wall. Read More »

The Contract Every NBA Team Wishes It Could Void

Elton Brand

On Twitter a couple weeks ago, WFAN Radio’s (New York) Evan Roberts tweeted a suggestion that as part of the NBA’s new collective bargaining agreement, each team should be allowed to void one bad contract. I thought that was an interesting idea, and did some research, and here is one contract each NBA team would probably like to void: Read More »
