So how did you spend one of the greatest days of the sports year? There was wall-to-wall NCAA Tournament action from noon til past midnight on the East Coast and it seemed like more people than usual ditched work to disappear into bars to watch games (one of us even had a men’s league game at night where various members of the starting five showed up half in the bag – it did not go well) … But before we really get into yesterday’s action, you may be interested in the image leading off today’s Smack. College football is right around the corner, which means one thing: College basketball isn’t far behind. Whenever the attention of the football-mad SEC turns to basketball, one of the conference standouts will be Arkansas guard Rotnei Clarke, one of the best outside shooters in the country and a candidate for All-SEC. Clarke is featured in Dime #58, available on newsstands now: Read More »

While most of the summer has been focused on the NBA, college basketball will be starting up again in a few weeks. As a basketball team manager at Vanderbilt, the SEC is my specialty, and while Kentucky is loaded with All-American freshmen again, experience still counts in this league. Here are the returning players most important to their team’s success this season: Read More »
