(Kelley L. Fox/ USA TODAY Sports)

(Kelley L. Fox/ USA TODAY Sports)

Since coming over from Toronto, Rudy Gay has played in two games for the Kings, and they’re 1-1 in those games after last night’s 106-91 victory over the visiting Rockets. Sunday night was Gay’s introduction to the raucous fans in Sacramento, a city that fought tooth and nail to save their NBA team from moving to Seattle. But Gay’s performance in his two Kings outings has been, gulp, really efficient. Will his effectiveness continue, or will he regress back to the median of his time in Toronto?. Read More »

The NBA’s 10 Streakiest Shooters

J.R. Smith

While the sports world is paying more and more attention to statistics and analysis of those stats, the concept of streaky shooting is being brought to the forefront for basketball fans to breakdown. Being a streaky shooter is not necessarily a negative trait to have, as many streaky shooters can alter the result of any given game. While there isn’t an exact science behind streaky shooting, getting the hot hand or going cold, there are players who tend to display this behavior more than others. Read More »

Suns Swat & Nutmeg DeMarcus Cousins In 4th-Straight Win

DeMarcus Cousins, Miles Plumlee

The Phoenix Suns are the second-hottest team in basketball. While Oklahoma City has won five-straight, the Suns have won their last four, and many people were predicting before the season they wouldn’t win that many before 2014. On Friday night, three different Suns took turns abusing poor DeMarcus Cousins on the way to Phoenix’s fourth victory, 116-107, in as many games. Read More »

Sink Or Swim? Breaking Down The NBA Playoff Chances For 10 Potential Tanking Teams

Michael Carter-Williams

In basketball, one thing is guaranteed: someone will win and someone will lose. This season, it appears the entire Eastern Conference (save Indiana and Miami) are playing Twisted Metal and driving tanks, trying to see which team can blow up the quickest. That wasn’t anymore evident than when Toronto shipped away Rudy Gay and received a McDonald’s value meal in return. Read More »

The Top 50 Fantasy Basketball Players Right Now

John Wall

Player values are officially set in stone now, so it’s time to update the Top 50. There aren’t too many drastic differences, but certainly there are some changes worth noting.

The biggest jump, once again, goes to Anthony Davis, who’s up 18 spots since the preseason edition, and Andre Drummond, who’s up an incredible 25 spots. You’ll notice that I came around on ranking injured players. It still leaves too much up for debate in my mind, but Anthony Davis’s needed presence was the deal breaker. Read More »

The Rudy Gay Trade Sent A Loud Message To Toronto Fans

Rudy Gay

After 20 or so games this year, there a few things we know for sure:

1. The Heat are/will be a contender as long as LeBron is on the court, but the margin for error has gotten smaller.

2. The Western Conference is incredibly deep; excluding the Suns (who should eventually return to the their tanking roots), there are 12 teams competing for eight spots. Further proof lies in the fact that last year’s playoff darlings, the Golden State Warriors, are currently in the eighth and final spot. (In all fairness, they are missing do-it-all stud Andre Iguodala.) Read More »
