Arguably, the two hottest teams in the West cross paths tonight. The Spurs, who are winners of eight of their last 10 head into Oklahoma City to face the Thunder, who have also won eight of 10. The two teams last met back in mid-November, where the Thunder rolled into the AT&T Center and came out with a 101-98 victory. Well, this is a different Spurs team now, so OKC doesn’t exactly have San Antonio’s number quite yet. Read More »

On this Chirstmas Day, two of the NBA’s most coveted 2010 free agents are being showcased on national TV. Dwyane Wade is on the tube as we speak playing the Knicks at Madison Square Garden, which coincidently could be one of his most appealing options come July 1st. The other superstar ’10 free agent, LeBron James, is in sunny California about to take on Kobe and the Lakers later on today. Read More »

On night number two of the 2009-10 NBA season, 20 more team will make their debut. Probably the most intriguing matchup of the 12 games on schedule tonight is between the Hornets and Spurs. It also happens to be the most accessible game since it will be part of the ESPN double header (the Jazz/Nuggets being the other). These two teams battled it out for seven games in the 2008 Western Conference second round in what was one of the most thrilling playoff series in recent years. Read More »

Now some of these teams have benches so stacked that they could probably handle Milwaukee or Sacramento’s starting fives. I ranked my top five second units in the league. Keep in mind, starting lineups haven’t been set in stone and some of these guys might start come opening night (tonight for some). Read More »

As many of you know, last year I was a complete disaster. But for every gambler, there is a new day and that day is today. I don’t love any of tonight’s game… with the possible exception of the over/under of the Celtics/Cavs game. 180? I like the over.
I did want to drop the Bodog preseason odds to take the NBA Championship. Things that jump out at me as intriguing long shot bets – The Mavericks at 25/1, the Cavs at 14/1, Clippers at 80/1, Spurs at 12/1 and the Raptors at 28/1. Even the Hornets at 10/1 is a nice bet. What do you guys like?
Odds to win 2009 NBA Championship (Max Bet on Bodog for this is $600):
