How Long Will Seton Hall’s Sterling Gibbs Be Suspended After This Cheap Shot?

On Monday night, Seton Hall’s Sterling Gibbs walloped Villanova’s Ryan Arcidiacono in the face with a punch as the players wrestled for a loose ball. The punch resulted in a flagrant 2 foul and a subsequent ejection. With a suspension looming over his head, Gibbs took to Twitter to apologize.

On one hand, he seems genuinely disturbed by his actions. On the other hand, he jacked someone with a cheap shot as they were lying on the ground. Outside looking in, the conference has to come down hard on Gibbs. A five-game suspension looks like a real possibility.

UPDATE: Seton Hall announced Gibbs will be suspended two games.
