NBA’s Top 10 Dunks Of The Season

Harrison Barnes

This season was full of incredible dunks and by the second half of the year, it felt like everyone was just trying to one up each other. There was Harrison Barnes, who was then topped by DeAndre Jordan, who was then almost topped by LeBron James. Unbelievable. Yet, I don’t think I’m the only one who wasn’t surprised by which play made No. 1. Read More »

10 Tiers Of The Best NBA Players 25 Years Old Or Younger

Derrick rose

As much as I enjoy watching LeBron James at the peak of his NBA powers, as much as I enjoy watching the veteran Celtics come together since Rajon Rondo went down, as fun as it is to watch Carmelo Anthony drop 35-plus night after night en-route to his first scoring title, and Chris Paul continuing to be the best point guard of this generation, what makes the NBA so great night in and night out is everyone else. In The Place To Be: Live From The 2013 NBA All-Star Game

Dwight Howard

What better way to celebrate the GOAT’s 50th birthday than to watch the best players in the world take turns dunking on each other? The midseason classic is here, the NBA All-Star Game, and I’ll be here all night live blogging the proceedings from inside of the Toyota Center in Houston. Read More »

The Winners & Losers Of NBA All-Star Saturday Night

Terrence Ross

NBA All-Star Saturday Night’s signature events are, without question, the Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout and the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. Dime Magazine was in Houston to check out the action live and have grades on the performances of each participant in both events (we can’t be the only other ones who nearly slept through the Shooting Stars and the Skills Competition). Be forewarned: this isn’t exactly a fair grading scale. Expectations played a role in their grades. Remember one of the worst things in the world is wasted talent – at least that’s what they say in the movie A Bronx Tale. Read More »

Boston Beats Down The Lakers; Denver’s Torrid Shooting Torches Chicago

Kevin Garnett

When will the Lakers’ “new” season start exactly? And did Boston’s begin once Rajon Rondo was lost for the year? These are things we think about after Thursday’s second-half power surge by Boston shut off the lights on the Lakers, 116-95, now four games under .500. Read More »

The Top 10 NBA Rookie Of The Year Candidates, Vol. 6

Damian Lillard

In the final weeks before the All-Star break, the midseason mark is almost upon us. While every rookie under the sun has struggled at some point this season, Damian Lillard has remained invincible. Anthony Davis wasn’t able to shake injury. Bradley Beal has let the injury bug catch up with him as well, and Dion Waiters lost his starting spot at times. Read More »

The 4 Players Who Should Be In This Year’s NBA Slam Dunk Contest

Russell Westbrook

One of the biggest draws of NBA All-Star Saturday Night is the annual Sprite Slam Dunk contest, even if the contest has failed to live up to fan’s expectations in the last few years. It has slowly gone downhill. After a while, there was too more emphasis on what prop a person could use instead of the actual dunk itself — I’m looking at you Dwight Howard, Blake Griffin and Gerald Green — leaving fans wanting something more. LeBron Unleashes the Beast on the Raptors; The Lakers Lose Dwight Howard

LeBron James

You know you have a good team when you can withstand five three-pointers from Jose Calderon, 36 combined points off the bench from a journeyman (Alan Anderson) and a rookie (Terrence Ross), and a turnover and missed shot from LeBron in the final minute. Read More »
