Orlando Was The Best Team In The NBA This Weekend

Victor Oladipo, Tobias Harris

The Orlando Magic aren’t pretending to be anything but a franchise on the mend after Dwight Howard left town before the 2012-13 season. They’re not surprising everyone like the Suns have this year, and they don’t have an all-star caliber player injured, like Rajon Rondo in Boston. But they do have heart, and their back-to-back victories over the top team in each conference this weekend shows that parity exists despite a rash of teams that are tanking the 2013-14 season. For only a half season’s worth of basketball, the NBA’s top athletes have put together a strong resume and large volume of impressive slams, so much so that we had to list 100 of them. There weren’t any that had to be forced on, either, to complete the list. No, there were plenty of worthy candidates to make this list go beyond the threshold of 100. Read More »

NBA’s 10 Best Dunks Of The Week

Ray Allen, Kent Bazemore

Taking the top spot on this week’s dunks of the week is a small forward throwing down a vicious one-handed alley-oop. At this point, you’d assume I was talking about LeBron James, right? Not this time.

Other members of this week’s list include a pair of big men running the break and putting smaller defenders on a poster, as well as a turn-back-the-clock moment from one of the league’s ageless wonders. Read More »

Fantasy Basketball: Buy Low, Sell High (12.27)

Tobias Harris

BUY LOW TOBIAS HARRIS, Orlando Magic Harris was a favorite of mine heading into draft day, but complications from a sprained ankle made most forget about the major fantasy impact he had at the end of last season. Now, he’s been upgraded from a recommended pickup of mine to the perfect buy low candidate. Since returning on December 13, Harris is putting up just 12.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 0.4 treys. His numbers have nowhere to go but up, and although he’s been better over his last three, averaging 16.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 0.7 threes, it’s still worth sending out an offer for him.
