See Trevor Ariza’s Perfect Emoji Response After 5’9 Isaiah Thomas Badly Rejects Him

The Seattle Pro-Am brings some big names as future, current and former NBA stars show out in Jamal Crawford’s hometown. But Washington state native Isaiah Thomas has always considered Seattle home, even after bouncing from Sacramento to Boston in his underdog pro career following his final selection in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Perhaps that’s how Zeke was able to sky for this insane block on Trevor Ariza, the 6-foot-8 wing for the Rockets.

Let’s watch it one more time:

Thomas isn’t known for his defense. Among guards last season, Zeke ranked in the 80s in points per possession allowed (10 possessions per game), and was even worse among guards against the pick-and-roll ball handler (minimum 3 possessions per game). But the guy has heart, along with a dribble-drive game that surprises most who mark him.

Here’s another angle on that block of Ariza, who was coming in with some momentum after catching it beyond the 3-point arc and driving baseline.

Sure, this is just the Seattle Pro-Am, so players aren’t going at 100 percent, but Thomas is something more than just a regular rotation player in the NBA. He consistently puts up numbers, despite some efficiency issues, and an overt lack of experience winning in the NBA. But to own another NBA player like this, one who started and was a huge contributor for the Western Conference Finalist Rockets, deserves some serious DAP.

Good thing Ariza was able to handle the ribbing with the perfect emoji response:

As we’ve already learned this summer, NBA players can bring the emoji game.
