Z-Bo Leaves Grizzlies Game Early For The Birth Of Little Z-Bo

Zach Randolph

There’s a strong history in the NFL of playing on Sundays despite the impending birth of a child. Not so with Zach Randolph last night when the Pelicans came into town to upset the Grizzlies 99-84 at the FedEx Forum. Randolph can rest easy even after the disappointing loss; his healthy child was born without incident with Z-Bo arriving just in time. Read More »

The 20 Best Small-Ball Lineups In The NBA

Carmelo Anthony

Just a short year ago, we were blessed to watch the USA Men’s basketball team storm into London and pick apart each opponent with a variety of different tactics that emphasized speed and transition defense. Those lineups, at times, were sorely lacking in the height department. We would occasionally find the 6-8 Carmelo Anthony at the center position where he would rebound and “attempt” to guard opposing centers. Read More »

The 2013-14 Head-To-Head Fantasy Basketball Top 50 – Preseason Edition

Dwight Howard

Preseason stats don’t mean too much, but it’s great to finally have something to analyze. Our Offseason Top 50 was gathering a little bit too much rust, so now that we’re a few exhibition games deep, it’s time for adjustments. There aren’t too many drastic differences, but certainly there are some changes worth noting. Read More »

Dwight Howard, Jeremy Lin, Chandler Parsons

There was a lot of excitement last night despite it only being preseason. We finally got to see Derrick Rose back on the court, but Dwight Howard also made his debut with the Rockets. The 15 Best Backcourts In The NBA

Deron Williams

The engine and brains of an NBA starting lineup rest with the point guard — the orchestrator — and the complementary role often belongs to the shooting guard. When the two talents fit, an NBA backcourt is a bad place to get caught up against on either end of the floor.

The Top 20 Shooting Guards In The NBA Right Now

Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant

When I watched the video of Kevin Durant proclaiming James Harden should replace Dwyane Wade in Sports Illustrated‘s top 10 NBA players list, a few things processed through my head, in this order:

1. Sweet! This is exactly what the NBA needs: two of its biggest superstars having beef with each other, especially superstars who play on two of the league’s very best teams. 2. Wait, this is clearly fake, right? I mean, Wade and Durant did that awesome Gatorade commercial together last year, and Durant’s tone of voice doesn’t sound very convincing. This has to be some setup for another commercial or advertisement. 3. Well, even if it isn’t real, I think I agree with Durant. Wade’s getting older and Harden is really growing into a true superstar. Read More »

The 10 Players With The Best Handles In The NBA

Chris Paul

Ballhandling is one of the most essential attributes in basketball. Everything from the crossover to the Euro Step is valuable and used by a variety of different players in the NBA. Ballhandling is sort of like poetry in motion, from the way the ballhandlers dribble in-between their legs to the deceptive no-look passes to fake defense out. Regardless how you look at it, if you can handle the rock, you don’t need anyone to get you a shot… and if you don’t need anyone else to get you a shot, then that’s going to make you pretty good.
