Nate Robinson Explodes to Ruin the Knicks’ Streak; Kevin Durant and a New Sidekick Destroy the Warriors

Nate Robinson

“The (Other) Streak” is dead. 13 New York Knicks wins in a row undone by predominantly by one Nate Robinson, who came off the bench to give ‘em 35 in 33 minutes in a come-from-behind overtime win for the Bulls in Chicago … [Check out Nate's new custom Jordans] … The wonder of Nate was on full display for pretty much the entire game with plenty of the good (buckets, energy, tenacity) and a heaping helping of the bad (horrrrrible shots at inopportune times, knucklehead passes, constantly straddling the line of about-to-get-a T and/or punched in the face by an opponent, etc.). Perfect example: Read More »

The Top 10 Final Four Games In NCAA History

Larry Johnson

We’re only a few days away from one of the best weekends in college basketball. With Louisville, Michigan, Wichita State and Syracuse set to go to battle this weekend, expect to hear a whole lot of Cinderella, zone defense and Trey Burke talk. It’s inevitable. Hopefully, the games live up to the billing. But in all likelihood, none of them will make this list. Read More »

Somebody thinks Harden is staying in OKC; Jim Calhoun is retiring

James Harden

It’s no secret that the NBA is on the mainstream backburner right now — stuck in that period when everybody is paying attention to football and the MLB playoff chase, when pretty much every important free agent has been signed, and when training camp isn’t exactly right around the corner. But in places like Oklahoma City, they’re just as basketball-obsessed as they were during the NBA Finals. Even on days when there’s no other NBA news to report, there’s still something coming out of OKC. Lately it’s been all about James Harden and Serge Ibaka. Read More »

Video: Andre Drummond’s High School Highlights

Andre Drummond

The NBA Draft turns every hoops fan into an amateur-hour Nostradamus. However, no player in this year’s lottery is more confounding or testing of our abilities than Connecticut’s Andre Drummond. The 6-11, 270-pound forward exuded a lackadaisical attitude to many during his only season in Storrs, and his averages of 10.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per game weren’t what was expected after being No. 1 or No. 2 in several prep scouting polls. After you see his final high school highlight tape, you can see why. Read More »

Dime NBA Draft Profile: Andre Drummond

Andre Drummond

They used to call it one of the best draft classes of the last 25 years. Now, it’s looking more and more like Anthony Davis… and then everybody else. Still, on June 28, the 2012 NBA Draft will bring hope, and hopefully new talent to some teams that desperately need it.

As we do every year, Dime will be holding you down with Mock Drafts, player interviews and diaries (you should check out Dion Waiters‘ draft diary), and we will also be bringing you draft profiles for every potential prospect deemed worthy. With this year’s crop of talent, that list is long. Our last profile was on University of Connecticut’s sophomore Jeremy Lamb. This week’s profile is on University of Connecticut’s freshman center Andre Drummond. Read More »

Report: Andre Drummond Is Going To The NBA

Andre Drummond

Austin Rivers took the plunge. So did what felt like everyone in Carolina blue. Dion Waiters is going, and so is pretty much everyone else projected as lottery picks outside of Cody Zeller. Now, according to reports, Andre Drummond will be the next in line to declare for this summer’s NBA Draft. Whether he’s ready or not won’t fall onto the hands of the Huskies anymore. Whoever takes him will get a massive prospect with incredible upside. Read More »

Report: Jeremy Lamb Is Going To The NBA

Jeremy Lamb

This year’s draft keeps getting deeper and deeper. Even without projected lottery pick Cody Zeller coming out – the Indiana big man decided this morning that he’ll be coming back to school – everyone is still convinced this will be one of the best drafts of the past decade. Now you can add Jeremy Lamb‘s name to the Green Room. The 6-5 UConn wing had an up-and-down year, and helped contribute to a terrible season, at least for the Huskies’ standards. But with a lottery spot calling his name, the kid who was a relative no-name until last spring’s NCAA Tournament couldn’t resist. Read More »

Dwight Howard Has A Surprise For Chicago; An Old Western Is Re-Aired

Dwight Howard

Is Stan Van Gundy a master motivator or just annoying enough to stoke the Magic’s fire? There’s evidence each way, but the result was a much-needed win for Orlando against Chi-town. SVG had called out his team just days ago, saying they were being complacent about having the third-best record in the East. Hey, you’d be upset too when you lose to the Bobcats and show the energy of a corpse as Charlotte started its double-digit comeback … Different story on Thursday: The Magic came in the first quarter hot like a burning building with 75 percent shooting.
