Dime Mock Draft 2.0: Would You Still Take Andrew Wiggins No. 1?

Andrew Wiggins, Joel Embiid

Okay, so maybe this year’s NBA Draft class isn’t quite as good as we thought. There are no LeBrons. No KDs. There might not even be a D-Wade in here. The class from 2003 is much better, and let’s not even go into discussions concerning the ’96 class or 1984. With that being said, there is a ton of talent, and we also have to remember: it’s not even April yet. With so many young players coming out, we can guarantee your opinion of them will be drastically different once we get closer to the summer. Read More »

The 15 Biggest Unknowns In The 2014 NBA Draft

Wayne Selden

How tired are we all of hearing names like Wiggins, Parker, Randle and Smart? It’s almost as if the basketball world forgot the draft consists of players outside the top five. While it’s great hearing those names, the 2014 NBA Draft class is being considered possibly the best in decades for a reason. It’s covered in future NBA All-Star talent, not just in the top five. With everyone’s focus on the top prospects in the draft, there will no doubt be some fans going “Who did my team just pick?” These fans might even be mad, because their team missed out on one of the bigger names, but that should be no cause for concern. 10 NBA Draft Prospects Outside Of The Top 5 That Can Be All-Stars

Gary Harris

Tony Parker, Paul George, Kobe Bryant. All three players were first-round picks but not selected in the first five picks of their respective drafts. They are evidence of this simple fact: There are plenty of talented players available besides the top prospects.

To expand on this further, from the 25 players selected for the 2013 All-Star Game (Rondo was injured), 10 of said players were selected after the fifth pick in their respective drafts. Moreover, the entire starting lineup of the Indiana Pacers does not have one player that was selected higher than the 10th pick of their draft. Read More »

Andrew Wiggins & Wayne Selden Put On An Awesome Show In First Action At Kansas

Andrew Wiggins

As you probably know by now, Kansas’ “Late Night at the Phog” intrasquad scrimmage went down recently, giving us our first taste of their star-studded freshmen class. Andrew Wiggins is drawing all of the hype as a future No. 1 draft pick, but don’t forget about 6-5 guard Wayne Selden, either. As he shows here, some of those D-Wade comparisons have merit. The Top 15 Pro Prospects In Next Year’s NBA Draft (With Highlights)

Andrew Wiggins

Now that we closed the book on what turned out to be one of the strangest draft nights in recent memory, it’s time to turn our attention to more pressing matters, like our predictions for the 2014 NBA Draft! True, the dust has barely settled on the Barclays Center, yet here we are, already looking ahead to next year. That’s because it’s shaping up to be arguably the deepest collection of talent since the landmark 2003 Draft that featured future All-Stars, Olympic Gold Medalists, MVPs and NBA Champions like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Bosh, as well as one of the most tragicomical draft busts of our collective lifetimes, the surly, frosty-quaffed Serbian himself, Darko Milicic.
