We’ve all heard of bizarre fights that have gone down within NBA locker rooms over the years. When Nate Robinson was a rookie during the ’05-06 season, he allegedly tried to jump then-teammate Malik Rose in the shower over a football bet. In 2000, an altercation during practice between former Seattle Sonics teammates, Vernon Maxwell and Gary Payton, carried over to the locker room after practice. The Glove reportedly threw a VCR remote control at Mad Max, who responded by chucking a five-pound dumbbell back at Payton. Read More »

Every year in the NBA there is a team that makes an incredible single season turn around. Last year it was the Miami Heat and this year it will be the Washington Wizards. (Sorry Sacramento Kings fans) The one caveat to that incredible single season turnaround is the return of a superstar. Much has been said about the return of Gilbert Arenas and what that means to a Washington Wizards team that only won 19 games. The Wizards have done more than just get healthy, they also brought in two NBA starters, Mike Lloyd Miller and Randy Foye, to add even more firepower to their team. Today’s Reebok Still Talkin’ Quote of the Day comes from one of the newest addition to the team formally known as the Bullets. Read More »

Caron Butler was on hand for the House of Hoops grand opening in D.C. on Sunday, October 25. It’s been two years since Gilbert Arenas has been relevant in the NBA. On top of being one of the league’s top talents at the time, Agent Zero also possessed Shaq-like charisma that allowed him to grace national magazine covers, appear in TV commercials and pen the hottest blog in the sports world (do athletes still blog?). Coming into the 2009-10 season healthy for the first time in two seasons, Gilbert is on a mission to get his name, his rep and his team back into relevancy. Read More »

Some of the benches on NBA squads are just nasty. It used to be teams would go just seven or eight deep in their rotation. Now some of these teams have benches so stacked that they could probably handle Milwaukee or Sacramento’s starting fives. I ranked my top five second units in the league. Keep in mind, starting lineups haven’t been set in stone and some of these guys might start come opening night (tonight for some). Read More »

You’ve heard this before. I know. But for what it’s worth, Gilbert Arenas says his left knee — on which he’s had surgery three times in the last two years — is at full strength. Beyond that, he’s been practicing with the Wizards at full speed since the end of All-Star break.
“I’m out there feeling like the old Gilbert Arenas again,” Arenas told the Washington Post. “I’m running, jumping, dunking, feeling good. No pain, no swelling. My balance is back, my speed is back. The only thing I have to get used to again is being around other bodies out there on the court. I’m working on getting my timing back. The only thing I’m not doing is playing in games.” Read More »
