adidas Unveils The New Crazyquick

Did you catch the Washington/Minnesota game last night? Outside of the Ricky Rubio and John Wall matchup, one of the more memorable things we took from it were Wall’s sneakers. He debuted the adidas adiPure CrazyQuick. Now today, adidas is officially unveiling the new sneaker.

The shoe will be worn across multiple platforms — Robert Griffin III is expected to wear them as well. Dime‘s Pat Cassidy is at the event in New York City, so stick with us for more photos and info from the official launch.

The new sneaker features an outsole with four quick zones that work with the shoe’s upper to provide maximum traction and flexibility. There is herringbone traction and 17 unique diverging pods to play a specific role in moving quick.

“We designed Crazyquick based on athletes’ insights,” says David Baxter, vice president of sport performance for adidas America. “The sports landscape is rapidly changing as athletes get faster and games get more intense and competitive. Speed is important but no longer enough in today’s game. Athletes know quickness is the defining factor in what distinguishes them when they’re on the field and court.”

This sneaker was tested more rigorously than any in adidas’ history. They picked up direct feedback from NBA players, and even some NCAA teams, on how it performed and how it functioned. John Wall will be the leading front man for the basketball edition of the Crazyquick.

Crazyquick basketball and Crazyquick football (already debuted last season by RGIII) will be available May 1 on adidas.com, and will hit retailers nationwide for $140 and $150. Crazyquick training and Crazyquick running will debut later this summer for $110 and $100.
